I am the script writer for a project we have to do in language arts on the book A Seperate Peace. The opening and closing each have to be 1 minute long and the argument has to be 3 minutes. How long would the script have to be to be 1 minute long and 3 minutes long if it was Times New Roman, size 12 font, double spaced? I doubt anybody will know, but I figured if anybody did, it would be somebody on the DIS. TIA!

Well... it all depends on how fast you speak! I'd just say try it out- write something (even if it's just fluff) and set a timer and read it. Sometimes in school projects they want you to talk slowly while other times, if it's a debate or something you might need to talk faster.

Sorry I couldn't be more help... I just don't think someone could really answer your question accurately.

Or for that matter, just copy and paste something and start reading.

Thanks. That's my problem, though. We are supposed to be lawyers and each person in my group was assigned a different role. A couple people are the investigators, they find the evidence to prove that the character is guilty. I am the script writer, and a couple of people are the lawyers. It is my job to take the evidence and turn it into the actual argument and the lawyers will be basically reading my script in front of the class. I am not the one reading it, though, so it is a little hard to determine. It really isn't that big of a deal, though, because we only get points for it being completed and for everyone participating. We also get 5 bonus points if we win the case, but its not like we are actually timed and lose a ton of points if we don't meet the set time.

For some reason, I seem to remember the rule-of-thumb being 120 pages of dialog == 2 hours. That instinctually seems short to me, but that's what I remember...
