Anybody Have This Issue? (Memory Card)

I have a Nikon D50; I have had it for 3 years. I have never had an issue with it until now. I have a bunch of 1GB and 2GB cards, but I decided for my next trip I would rather have a couple of 4BG cards. I purchased a 2-pack of 4GB cards and my camera does not see them. It flashes "CHA" - - even after formatting them it is the same thing.

I put one card in my daughter's point and click Samsung and another one in my sister's Kodak and they work. The issue seems to be limited to my Nikon.

Has anybody else had this issue and if so, was it just the card size, was it brand or was it something more detailed?

Can you post a link to the exact card you purchased?

My guess is that if you got a 4gb card, it's probably a "SDHC" (high capacity) card, which the Nikon D50 doesn't support.

Looks like the D50 doesn't support the SDHC (> 2GB I think) memory cards. If you google "Nikon D50 sdhc" you will get a ton of information.

You know what - that is exactly what it was and I did not even notice until after I posted my question. Oh well, I have a home for them, so that is good. I will just go get another one tonight that is non-HC.

Stick with the 1 and 2GB SD cards. There are a few non-sdhc 4GB cards, but I don't trust them. I had one corrupt in my camera. But for the most part, I think all 4GB+ cards are now sdhc.
