boy is it a bad omen that everyone is having financial problems. Here is my list.

Van's tranny went needs $1500 in repairs
Vans 3 tires need replaced for inspection thats $300
Vans brakes need replaced thats another $200
Van needs tune up for $300
Car needs new windshield thats $250
Car needs new radiator and hoses $350
and that is just the vehicles
DD needs therapy equipment $1,000
DS needs therapy equipment $700 (wish they needed the same equipment)
Need new stove $400 ours just went yesterday
Need new washer $500 (have been looking for a week now for something cheaper)
Dishwasher needs repaired $250 (that can wait)
Drill press needs repaired $475 (that cant wait that is part of our side business that is our extra source of income)

One good note is that I purchased a newer van for me last month with only 62,000 miles on it.
Only bad news about it is forking out the $350 a month truck payments and $187 a month (for 18 months for extended warrenty.)

I just pray that nothing more happens or what is left for our vacation fund will have to be tapped into.

Our total is $5975 not including the monthly truck and warrenty payments

I've got one too! Two weeks ago at church my son (who's 11) was trying to impress some girls and said "Watch me, I caqn hold my breath till I turn purple" -He passed out and broke off his two front permanent teeth, :headache: this is the second time for one of them, then yesterday at school he bit into something at lunch and popped the fake one off Again (that's #3) all this has cost us over $1000 and later (Late teens early twenties) he will need root canals and porcelin veneers! :scared1: No telling what that will cost. We are supposed to go to disney in three weeks! Now I'm not sure if we should try to swing it. I can't believe he did this!

also got my CC bill my DH charged stuff i didnt know about:mad: i almost had them payed off(sorry havent talked yet just got the bill today hes at work)

I just paid ours off over 5K last month with our tax refund and we got it in the mail today and my DH has charged $728.00 back on it!!! It is mostly gas, but he bought a book for $60.00, and ate out a few times when he should have paid cash!!!! I told him I was taking his CC away from him..lol I already took his debit card away because he made us go into the RED by not telling me about charges, so he lost that one.

MEN....ugggghhhhh!!! :confused3

Well, my dishwasher started leaking into my basement this week, my dryer died last night and yesterday my dog cut his paw and I had to take him to the emergency wet to have it taken care of. I don't know anything about the dryer or dishwasher yet because on top of everything else my husband has the flu. :headache:

At least we're not alone.....DH's car died - ONLY needs a new engine (at least $2500 if they can find one salvage I think - I don't know all those details), but to top it off, he lost his job Dec. 31 so we have no benefits (ie. insurance) so we get to try to manage on one car in a family with 3 very active kids who all play different spring sports. Should be fun. At least we live within walking distance of school and even the grocery store if I really need plus I will be getting all this free exercise.

Not so much budget busters because we knew they were coming and had planned for them, however they still hurt ...

1900 car repair
1500 car repair
650 rental while above 2 were repaired
-----
4050 out in one week (could've gone to Disney darnit!)

Hit a huge pothole on the highway (in the dark  ) and have to pay about $300 to get the suspension and undercarriage damage fixed so it will pass inspection...

I'll probably have to charge about $100 of it. $300 was a high estimate so lets just hope it doesn't get that high.

Oh but the good news is, I apparently overpaid my gas bill last month so I had this month w/out a payment! Of course...it's all going to my stupid junky car...

Here are my woes.....

We have been needing new furniture, so we just ordered some. (I did get a great deal though).

We went for an oil change and find out our car needs 4 new tires. We didn't even realize it, but I guess we should have known considering the last time we purchased tires for this car.

Our other car is going into the shop this week because the steering wheel shakes when you hit the brakes. The last time this happened, the rotors had to be replaced, but done under warranty. I saw the bill and it was very expensive - hopefully this is not the case this time. And dh hit a pot hole and the tire has a gouge in the sidewall. We have the roadside hazard, but we will still end up paying a portion.

I had a service call for my washer - the start button wouldn't work. It turns out the entire circuit board went bad. $221 to fix it. Here's the kicker: the part was only $56. The rest went to labor and the trip charge!:headache:

When I read these I am so thankful that my husband fixes all the cars in our families. It's somewhat of a curse for him because he's sometimes very busy but he saves everyone so much money and they appreciate it. His brother went to take his car for an inspection last weekend and they wanted to charge him over $800 for brake work:scared1: . My husband did it for around $90. It's rediculous what the shops charge you.

At least I'm not the only one..!:sad2:

Joining in here... DH and I decided things were going ok, that we had not spent too much money lately and we had some money to tackle some projects. First was to replace our horrible front loading clothes washer (oh, I hated that thing!). We went and got a $700 top loader (love it!)... throw in a new fridge for our basement for $500 as the old one was ancient and disgusting...!

Uh oh.. my Town and Country Van with 66k went in for the 2nd time this year... first visit was $950... now this visit last week was $1,005! and I had no car for 3 days...!

So much for any extra money...!

that car had better last me for a while...!! and no more projects for now! So, if you come to my house, just don't notice the old furniture and the front porch in need of a paint job... they're just not important!;)

Sorry about everyone elses troubles too...! :grouphug:

I was just thinking about how bad the past few days have been when I found this thread...

Last weekend we took our car (we're a 1 car family at the moment) in for brakes... turns out it needed a TON of other work to the tune of $1800. We were told not to drive the car at all cause it was unsafe. So we decided to skip the repairs and just find a new vehicle cause our family was outgrowing out car anyways.

So we find a new minivan, get approved for the loan, everything is great... Saturday morning my husband goes to get in the car to drive to the dealership for the trade in and to get the new car and find that our car had been broken into the radio and dashboard all smashed, and the entire outside was keyed... there was not one panel that they missed. We took it to the body shop $4000 to repair!! Fortunately we have good insurance, but it will take 3-4 weeks to repair. It may end up being totalled because the car is older and not worth a ton of $$...

Than Sunday our hot water heater died (our house is only 9 years old so I don't think that is normal). Still waiting on an estimate to fix that.

Than today our t.v., which we've had since November 07 just died. It just turned off and refused to turn back on. It's still under warranty but DH doesn't know where the receipt it. Ugh!

Just a bad, bad week and I'm waiting for something good to happen to balance it all out. Sorry this is so long... just needed the vent
