Has anybody had a female dog with incontinence problems?
I am fostering a 10 yr old female Golden retriever mix. Goldens always have been my favorite. She was in a shelter after her owners turned her in saying they were moving
ALthough I had another foster dog at home, I saw her sweet face and asked if I could foster her as well. So she is now in my home. She has come to me with many skin issues(Flea related)and seems to have incontinence as well. She potties outside like a good girl, and but there is almost always a wet spot underneath her smelling like urine. I can not get her into the vet until Monday..For now we are protecting the sofa(all my dogs lay there)with my daughters old mattress pad, as well as towels and a blanket. My gut is telling me owners turned her in for medical problems more then moving problems. Luckily though, I volunteer with a wonderful all breeds doggie rescue, and all her medical problems will be taken care of,
I have a 10 yr old golden of my own, and that is why I fell in love with this new dogs sweet face. She has been such a good girl. She came into my house with my 4 other dogs here, with no problems. The first day, we gave her a nice bath, fed her dinner,and she curled up on the sofa and went to sleep...like she has been here forever. I can't imagine what this poor thing is going through.
So , for all those who had dogs with this issues, are they on pills and do they help???
