I n eed to find a really good sturdy (cheap) one...any recommendations? I tried to go to ComsumerReports.org but you have to subscribe to read any of their analysis...(30.00 a yr for 1 article...no way!!)

HELP!!!! :)

Or at least help me find a website that doesn't charge! :)

We have a Hamilton Beach one... another good brand would be Krups

Wehave had no problems with my HB one.

I have one from braun that I've had for about 5 years.

and had it for years now. Although we don't use it that often anymore. Check out www.amazon.com I also know that Target.com was offering free shipping recently.

I've got a Braun that was purchased at Target about four years ago for 12 bucks. Believe it or not, we bought it to be a spice grinder. It's only been in the past year or so that DH has decided to drink coffee again. Yes, we wipe it out really good before he has coffee (pepper in the coffee, blech!)

thanks guys i really appreciate your help!!!! :)

truth be told i think my MIL broke it making a pecan pie @ Thanksgiving & was not going to tell me.

We have had Braun before and had no problems. But now we have Krups and this one has had a lot of use and has lasted years.

It's really nice to have a burr grinder. It has wheels instead of blades, and the coffee beans pass through them & drop into another container. Not sure how much they cost these days. It might not be in your budget.

We bought a used one at a fancy rummage sale. It was $5. Used if for 2-3 years. When it broke we were dismayed to find that a replacement was $50!! I think they're less now. Ours is a braun.

I have a grinder and buy my coffee as whole beans and grind them

We have a Krups and a Braun. One is for spices and one is for coffee. the Krups is used for spices. How else would I be expected to grind pepper to make steak au poive?

we have two too (one for coffee and one for spices). they are both by braun and we've had them for about 4 years with no problem and pretty constant use. :)
