Anybody fans of Author Philip K Dick!!/Questions

I was wondering if anybody as read the books/stories by the author Philp K Dick. He is the author of the books/short stories that were used as the basis for the movies Blade Runner/Total Recall and Minority Report.
Are his works worth reading and how true is his stories/books to the movies that were released. I have enjoyed the movies and have been thinking of reading his books/stories. From a author who wrote these stories in the 50's he seems ahead of his times.

My favorite is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep which became BladeRunner. What a great book!

I read some of the names for his other book/stories and they were also weird!!! His book "We can remember it for you Whole sale" became the Total Recall movie. Was Blade Runner as good as the book??

The movie and the book are different. The director's cut is a little closer than the original theatrical release. In the book we know Decker is a replecant, in the original release we don't think so at all and in the director's cut were are given hints that he is. I really, really like the movie, but that has a lot to do with Ridley Scott (the director), Harrison Ford & Sean Young.

Oh man ... I'm going to have to buy the DVD tomorrow.
