Hey -

Just wondering if anybody here has used long-term parking at JFK? :confused3

We're leaving for a short WDW trip next week - nobody is available to drop us off at the airport and the car service rates are say too high considering I don't live too far away from the airport.

JFK's website cites a long-term parking lot for $18 per day - seems pretty reasonable when split between three of us.

Just curious if anybody has used this before - wondering about availability, security, ease of AirTrain shuttle to the terminals, etc.

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

Thanks,
Laura

Hi!

We have used it 3 or 4 times.
The shuttle ran quickly & on time & security was good.

I was really worried the 1st time we used LTP because we have nice cars & my fear was we would come home & the car would be broken into or gone.....I worried for nothing.

Have a great trip!

One of my friends suggested using Avistar (offsite airport parking), but I like the idea of parking the car myself and having possession of my keys at all times ;)

Take a look around online because sometimes you can find coupons for a free day of long term parking if you're staying for a minimum of 3 days. Also, my suggestion to you is to have one person drop everyone else off at the terminal with all the bags and then just the one person go to park and take the shuttle back. You don't want to deal with lugging your bags onto the shuttle that will be packed with people. Just easier to have one person go and meet the rest of the group waiting at the terminal. Same for the way home, have the driver go pick up the car while everyone else waits with the bags.

That's a great idea - never even thought of that. Thanks :)

Have you looked into the train to the plane?? Its fabulous.

I've heard nothing but great things about that - but we are coming from Long Island and would still have to get to the train. Since we are leaving mid-day, everybody we've asked is either working, or busy - so we are left with the option of driving ourselves.

I used Avistar out of Newark and it was wonderful. They drop you right at the terminal. They have coupons on their website also.

Anyway, however you get there, just get there LOL - can't wait for our trip :cool1:
