Anybody ever stay at a Howard Johnson's in FL?

I reserved a room in Ft Myers, FL with just my name and addy, no credit card needed, for just under 50. We are just using the room to sleep after vising relatives in the area and will drive to WDW in the morning. It is at 4811 S Cleveland Ave. There is a free continental breakfast as well. Has anyone stayed here or a similar Howard Johnson's Inn? We are bringing 1 yo DD and I wanted a clean room in a decent (quiet) area.

Is that a good hotel and a good rate? Also wanted to know if I should add my credit card to the ressie. Cust svc rep said they will hold the room until 4 pm the day of arrival without it, but should I be leary of this? What if they get busy- we aren't going till Oct. What would the continental breakfast be? They said this is one of their "gold medal hotels", whatever that means....

I have a reservation for a similar HoJo Express in June, but am concerned about quality and cleanliness. My reservation is for Clearwater Beach, on the beach, for $63 per night.
