I thought I read somewhere that one of you got the Swan for $69 per night. Maybe I was dreaming!!! Anyway, have any of you used these web pages before and got lucky?
Hi - I was lucky enough to get the Swan through hotwire but it was $81 a night. We arrive the day after Thanksgiving through the following Saturday. You might want to do a search on this board because there is a tread about getting the Swan and Dolphin on hotwire and tell you exactly what to look for. Good luck!
I have been reading thru S/D information and posts for the last several days and my eyes are blurred---but I can not seem to find the hotwire/priceline descriptions for S/D. Can anyone post a link or the information --- Please! Thanks.
I just wanted to say that my DSIL and I got both the Dolphin for one day and the Swan for three days at $81 a night for Oct. 23-27 to go to the F&W and MNSSHP. If I remember right they do not have it on there anymore.
sherry8253--Thanks for the link-- someone had posted on page 17 a link to descriptions and I played around on Hotwire. I was able to put in my dates and come up with an exact match as posted for a rate of $166. I did not bid. Our trip is in January and so maybe I am planning a little to far ahead as I was hoping to do a little better. I would like to plan a trip for Jan. 7-11 --our 10th wedding anniversary is on the 8th and the WDW marathon is the 11. I have heard you have to book early because of the marathon--but I called CRO and all the deluxe epcot resorts are showing availability. Which of course makes me think I have some time to find a great rate. And finding a great rate at a fabulous resort is part of my master plan in convincing DH we should return with the kids in May. Well that, and I would love to stay at the S/D simply because the rooms seem very romantic for a special trip. The rest of the Epcot resorts just don't seem to appeal and if I can't get a great rate I have a feeling we will end up off site entirely. ---So keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes open for any and all bidding/rates and information!!
Good Luck KC&D Mom - I hope you find the Swan at the price you are seeking. If not, have you considered the AKL? It is my absolute favorite resord and very romantic because of the full moon lighting over the savannah every night. They usually have some great deals. We have stayed there a few times and love it. The bus transportation is great because the buses are not shared with any other resort. Hope you have a great trip and your DH agrees to take the kids in May. Sherry
. . . I would have to say AKL is my second choice! If we could get S/D $125 or so I would jump on it and no--- we do not qualify for nurse/teacher/gov't . Maybe it sounds silly but I looked up the rooms at Deb's site and decided S/D (corner king room wow! and the ability to walk to Boardwalk and Epcot ) and AKL (just pretty rooms in a beautiful place) were clearly the romantic choices to me. I know this isn't a popular opinion but the Victorian GF just leaves me flat. The kids are huge Poly fans and we will probably take them back there on the second trip. So . . .still hoping for a great price for a "romantic" trip!!
I know what you mean - the GF does nothing for me either. The WL is very romantic to especially in the winter when with the big fireplace. I thought that the Dolphin had specials going on for everyone right now and not just gov employees and nurses. If I find anything for you, will send you a PM. Good luck on finding something very special for you and your DH.
We got the Swan on Priceline for $59/night for May 9th-11th. It was great, but I would NOT risk using Priceline again...we got lucky, but we could have ended up off-property when we wanted to be on-property.
I now use Priceline all the time. However, you MUST be prepared to accept what you get. Most of the time I get the DTD HIlton or Wyndam. I have also gotten the Marriott. In all my trys never got the Swan or Dolphin or the Gaylord. Oh well!
After the big Priceline grabs of a couple of months ago, S/D were no longer on priceline at that time. (Per their top guru). I believe they do short term advertising at different sites at different times.
Have you tried an Entertainment book rate for that time period? Another option might be to get the Starwood AmEx card (believe that is what its called!) and use enough to accumulate points to try to get a couple of your nites free- that would offset the other nights if you had to go full price.
