Ok I'll admit it I made a really stupid mistake
Im taking my son to visit the University of Alabama this weekend
We are flying into Atlanta then driving the 3 hours to Tuscaloosa .

I purchased our departing flight about a month ago
I was a few points shy of being able to purchase the return tickets with points too so i waited
I got my points but the price jumped from $81 a ticket to $225 a ticket one way Atlanta to Pittsburgh.
Its a 9:45 pm flight on a Tuesday evening. I was worried the flight would be cancelled due to lack of sold seats not raising the price to a ridiculous amount

So im not paying $225 one way thats insane
Frontier flies back wednesday afternoon $58.00 for 3 tickets ( DD is going too)
I kmow i have to pay for luggage but seriously its still a way better deal.

I never flew Frontier
Pros Cons ? Advice?

I've flown Frontier 5 times in the past year. I absolutely love them and there are no cheaper deals around where I am. I flew RT from NJ to FL for $50, $60, and the last was $100. Even the most expensive was less than half the price of the usual flights.

The major complaints you will see about this airline are typical of all discount airlines. You pay for everything. You pay if you want to select your seats, you pay for checked bags, you pay for carryon, you even pay for drinks or snacks. You will also pay more if you wait to pay for your luggage at the gate. So book that in advance to save a few bucks.

We have found ways to lessen the cost of luggage and for short trips we only take a personal item for free. Personal item being a backpack or diaper bag typically.

The flights themselves have been great, and we've been on time or early each time so far. Other complaints I've read have to do with late flight and cancellations, but that happens with every airline it seems. The downside though if a Frontier flight is cancelled they usually only have a couple flights a day in most locations so you can't just hop on another flight an hour later. But so far we haven't had this issue. Fingers crossed that we never do.

Seats are small and not very comfortable and only some of the more expensive ones recline. They also have tiny tray tables. Again, nothing that's an issue for me but others rather spend more money and get a little more comfort and leg room.

Like I said we've been super happy with them. If it wasn't for their cheap flights I wouldn't have been able to do Disney as many times as I have this past year.

I've only flown Frontier twice, but I loved them. They were great as far as I was concerned. I would book with them again if they were going where I wanted to travel.

I've flown Frontier a few times, and the last few times I paid a nominal fee to get a bit more leg room and be closer to the front.

The first time I flew Frontier, probably 4 years ago, I was very late to the airport because I misread my ticket. It was totally my fault. The gate agents quickly checked my bag and gave me a pass to get through the security line so I could make my flight. I really appreciated that and have a warm spot in my heart for them.

Discount airline. Fees for everything. But cheap. After all, its just a seat to get from point A to point B. Aircraft is the same one that every other airline flies, so the seats, cabin, etc. are all the same. Enjoy your trip, and especially the money you are saving.
