Anybody ever find the paintbrush on Tom Sawyer's Island?

I had never heard of this before. On our last trip we decided to stop by Tom Sawyer's Island....as we were exiting our raft, the driver said "Aunt Polly has lost her paint brush - (I think Tom & Huch may have taken it) & the first one who finds it will win a prize for your whole family". Well we couldn't find it, but it made scouring the island more fun - I prefer to skip it most trips. Does anyone know more about this?

We found one in August! We were given a fastpass that we could use on either Splash or BTMRR.

We were on Tom Sawyer's Island pretty early that day. I don't know how many paint brushes they hide, or if they re-hide them throughout the day for others to find.

My friend just got back after going for Thanksgiving weekend. I had told her about the paintbrushes, so they went there right after their breakfast at CP. Well, there were 5 of them on the island, and she said they were pretty much in plain sight. They are bright blue and red, and look like props so nobody really knows what they're there for. Her family found all 5, but were told you can only turn in one. They were given fast passes for the whole family for any ride in the park.

There are usually 3 paint brushes "hidden" every morning. They just leave them laying around in plain sight. I saw one once just sitting on a bench near the dock. Since it was just me and DW on vacation this time I left it there so a bigger family [hopefully with kids] could "find" it.

We found one years ago. It's nice that people are still allowing this to happen - it's a little known treat, and no one is really abusing it yet. As soon as it gets too crazy, people pushing/running/ruching/fighting over the parintbrushes, they'll be gone. I think the "Wake up Tink" threads can give more insight into how a neat, special treat can go terribly wrong!

We wondered all over that island, so I don't remember the exact location. It was inside one of the forts. Although you had to be inside the fort to see it, the brush was just laying there. It wasn't really "hidden" or buried behind a bush or anything like that.

I hope you find one!

Although we only picked up one to turn in, my kids found all five paintbrushes Tuesday. The scavenger hunt made the adventure fun for those who really weren't interested in Tom Sawyer Island. The kids spotted them in the caves and in the fort.

DS found one on our trip this past August. He didn't know it had any significance so he just left it there. When he found out what it was for he insisted we return first thing the next morning. We were the first ones on the raft and he and his sister spent 45 minutes scouring the island and didn't find one.
