Anybody else feel like you enter a time warp when you go to Disney?

You know the feeling....you arrive at Disney pumped and excited because you have a full 8 days of non-stop fun ahead of you. Then you wake up after a day (or 2 at the most!) and you realize 4 days have gone by and half of your vacation is already gone. Then another day and it's time to go home! How can time fly so fast? Does this happen to everyone? If so, where does all that time go? Wait, I know...a good portion of it flies up here only to get absorbed by the endless meetings I have to sit through.

Seriously, we are going for 8 days, 9 nights (8 full days) which sounds like a lot, but I swear it seems as soon as we get there it's almost time to turn around and go home again. I remember the first time we went it was for only 4 days back when MK and EPCOT were the only parks. When we took our first 8-day trip I thought we'd have soooo much time and I was surprised at how fast it flew by. :sad2:

I completely agree!!

and another thing.....

How sad is it when you are leaving for the airport at the end and you watch all of the excited faces arriving to start their vacations!! At least they will be sucked into the time warp, too! :hourglass

I know what you mean, last year was a blur. We stayed for a week at the end of May and although we have many wonderful memories of our first family vacation to WDW, our time seemed like it was over before it even began. This year we are staying for 12 days. Lets see if 5 extra days helps to slow things down some.

We get depressed about going home no more then 2 days into our trip. This next one will be the longest, 8 nights, 7 full days, but I doubt that will help.

I agree. You look so foreword to it, its all you can think about, and all of a sudden, its over. Its a terrible thing--But, you just have to try to make it last. And appreciate it why you are there.

I agree too, but it's like any trip. You're all excited about going, but before you know it, it's time to go home.

Time goes *so fast* when you're on a Disney vacation!

OT: JMCross, would you mind sharing where you got the Tink teacher clip art! I love it, and would like to use it on another site. Thanks!

I totally agree...time goes into hyper speed in WDW. Its like you never have time to do everything you wanted to!

Yeah i know what you mean, when you go through those gates you get so excited and then its over before you blinked and you on your way back to normal life again

yes time definately flies at Disney
DS & I were there for 14nights last Aug and time still flew!

I know what you mean!!! My next trip is a scant 4 days and I'm already trying to find another long weekend to go back.

I love WDW because it lets me be a kid all over again. I can eat Chocolate covered Mickey Ice Cream bars - I can ride RNR three times in a row if I want - I can wear my Stitch headband with his antenna and ears and feel right at home!

Heaven on Earth!!! Ely

I would love to help you out but someone made it for me quite a while ago. I have no idea how they made it or where they got it. You are welcome to copy it from me and delete my name if you can.

We usually go for ten days at a time.
The first 5 are slow and funfilled but the last 5 feel like 2!

Even though we been there over 30 times since 1977, I still get a smile on my face netering the resort for check in. My wife says I transform into a different person once I'm past that porthole. That grin doesn't leave until we're off property headed home. When we immerse ourselves, with a cooler full of libations down by the pool, we look at each other and say, "we're really here" again and again through all the years and trips to WDW, its the best place on this earth. To sustain that attitude, our trips have gone from 4 nights, 1977 to 10-12 nights, present. We buy AP's so we have to go back twice a year, and the magic goes on and on.

When our daughter did the CP, we were down to WDW 3 times and she stayed with us for the duration of our stay. Some of the best memories of our life have been created at Disneyworld and they continue to grow stay by stay and year by year.

actually i usually could only take about 5 days of disney until i am done and need to go home. the few times i have gone, we did 5 with one day in the middle of nothing (basically i woke up at 11, got lunch, nap by the pool til 6, got dinner, napped in room until 11, ate again then bed time) oh and im serious, i was up for probably 4 hours all that day, it was awesome.

I think time really does fly when you're at WDW. As long as I have more vacation days left than vacation days that are gone I'm okay. But when the number of days I have left is shorter than the days that are gone that is when I usually get a little sad. I just came back on 3/4 and today is the first day I have posted anything. Someone else mentioned feeling sad at MCO when you see all the people where you were a week ago getting off the plane and ready to hit the World and I feel that way on the DIS boards a bit after vacation. I am a little sad when I see people talking about their upcoming trips when mine was over so very quickly. I usually snap myself out of both scenarios by telling myself to have a good time at WDW and to stop feeling sad and ENJOY what is left. For the boards, I tell myself to not be selfish and enjoy reading about other people's excitement as their trip draws near and to relive the memories of our last trip. That usually works but sometimes the twinge of sadness is still there. But this year I decided to plan my next trip literally the day I got home and that seems to be the best help for lifting the post Disney blues. Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that times flies faster than normal at WDW. :)

I agree....I planned my trip very throughly using TGM (little plug for Mike) and when I got home I realized all the things I forgot to do! Warp speed made my mind warped because I forgot to take more pictures, go play miniature golf, look for DeVine at AK, look for Wes Palm...and about all the other million tidbits I've learned from the boards! That's why I'm going back in December! :cool1:

I alos agree. We did 8 days and 7 nights. On arrival day and the next it was soooo exciting. But even by the third day I realized how fast time was going by and how much I just loved the whole feel the place gave me. We have not been for 2 years now and we all still will smeel something or see something on occassion and just sigh "ooohh disney". I want to live there. I think when all the kids ae gone I'm going to go be a character or something. :) My life long dream. What high aspirations I hold. LOL But I would die with a happy smile. :)
