I've received many comments in my threads that state that I'm kind of spoiled when it comes to vacations and WDW. Yea my family and I go on a lot of trips but that is because we have soooo much fun! We like spending time together in other places.
I mean, yea, I'm young and only a teenager and I've been on sooo many vacations, but does that really make me a spoiled brat? I was thinking about it a lot today and I realized that maybe I am.
Does anyone else agree with me? Should I tell my folks to cut down on the vacations?

Not necessarily a spoiled brat, but definately a have rather than a have not. Just as long as you appreciate what you get! ::yes::

I do not think that is so much that you are spoiled but rather do not seem to appreciate what you have. If your family is able to take alot of vacations, then so be it. You should consider yourself fortunate.
I certainly would not allow my teenage daughter dictate to me when or when not to go on vacation or where to go on vacation.

Very well said.

We don't know you, so I don't think anyone here has a right to label you a "brat" It would be unfair.

You do go on many trips, so you must be very lucky from that perspective. I didn't go on any vacations from the time I was 12 until I was 25-- why? My family couldn't afford them-- it wasn't until I was able to afford my own vacations that I could go.

I definitely think that you can be blessed with the ability to go on many vacations, and not be a "spoiled brat." I know if I was in your position, I would take as many vacations as possible.

However, where people may begin placing the label is when you come and post that you are not excited because you just go too many times, and oh, guess you'll just have to go to Hawaii next month instead of Disney World. Since most people do not have that kind of luxury, they may perceive you as a "spoiled brat"

As long as you realize that you have something a lot of poeple do not, and do not boast about it, and don't take it for granted, you are not a spoiled brat. Having money to do things like that should never be taken for granted. You never know what can happen, and it can be gone in a flash tomorrow. As long as you appreciate it, try to live a good life that you enjoy, and don't make those who can't have the material things that you do feel as if they are below you because of it, then you are a good person.

You're only a "brat" if you act "bratty". I haven't read the other posts so I can't say whether or not you are bratty, but if you enjoy the trips, appreciate all your parents do to be able to provide them to you, realize that not everyone has the same privileges as you and maybe learn a thing or two while travelling then I see no problem.

Travelling with our kids is a great joy, we're so happy and proud to be able to do so many different things for them, and most importantly WITH them. It's the only time in our busy lives when we can focus on each other and spend some real quality time together. We love the fact that our kids are out in the world, experiencing new and different things and know how to act in all different situations. Travelling's what we do. But our kids know that they're lucky and they really seem to appreciate our trips.

The only reason I think you are a brat is you think you should tell your parents what to do. But if they listen to you they created the brat they now have to deal with.

I don't know if you're a spoiled brat or not.....but what always amazes me is when people blame the child for being spoiled as opposed to blaming the parents for spoiling her or him.....

Kids don't "spoil" themselves...

I noticed you are going to disneyland for the first time
and I just wanted to let you know that it is so much smaller than
disneyworld, but you can get all the fast passes for each ride at
the same time!
and use them anytime during the day. unlike disneyworld.

they were very cool about that!! we had one for every ride
one day and just walked on practically.

have fun:sunny:

It was only my mom and me growing up. It was all she could do to just support a family on her own. We did everything together and she was always taking me places but we couldn't afford to travel. She would have killed to take me on a vacation. I absolutely HATE it when kids don't appreciate trips that parents try so hard to earn and plan for them. You see them all over the place at the parks all the time. They are SOOO disrespectful and unappreciative. If I EVER acted like that I know my family would have never brought me back on any more trips. It thoroughly bothered me the way you were demanding to know if you could cancel the trip as if you were the one paying for it and controlling you family. Be considerate of the other people in your family, it's not just you. I think you sound very ungrateful for all that you have been blessed with. If I was your parents I wouldn't be taking you on any trips for quite a while. If your parents still wish to take a trip by themselves, they should then. If they have just too much money on their hands that they need to get rid of, donate it to the MAKE A WISH foundation so a child who wants nothing more than to be with their family at WDW while they are going through a serious sickness. There are so many families that can't afford to go. There are so many families living in completely terrible conditions around the world that are lucky if they get one meal a day. Be grateful for what you have. I'm sorry but this is a touchy subject and it makes me completely sick when spoiled kids whine and complain about having to "take a trip with their family" because they go there SOOO much already!!!!!!!!!:crazy2:

Well, clueless here for me. I don't recall ever seing any threads of yours, much less amy indicating brattiness on yours or amyone's part. So, based on my observations, I wouls ahve to say no, just enjoy. Certainly here on the DIS, a collection of WDW and DL 'enthusiasts', there are many who go much more frequently than you guys, and snobs I do not consider them either.
