OK, I know i really isn't tea, but that is what it is being marketed as. Anyway, if you drink it, what exactly does it taste like and where are you buying it? I saw one place that wants $4.50 for TWO OUNCES! Yikes.

I bought some Rooibos teabags at my local grocery store. I swear I only paid about $5 for the box of 20 teabags.

Anyway, I bought it because I like to drink tea late in the evening but the caffeine is just too much for me. Decaf tea tastes HORRIBLE so I was looking for a replacement that would taste similar to regular tea. This stuff (at least the brand I bought) tastes pretty good and has no caffeine. I don't believe in any of the claims that are made about it though. I think it's all hogwash.

I buy mine at Trader Joe's for about $2.00, also when I want something warm to drink at night. I really don't like decaf teas. I think it tastes sweet, not herbally or strange. All tea is high in anti-oxidants so its like drinking an extra vegetable. I don't think it will cure all the world ills though.

That sums it up well. It didn't have that "herbal" taste taht I really hate. It almost tasted like "normal" tea and it had a hint of sweetness to it. Very smooth also.

I am totally hooked on red tea. I stumbled across it at the grocery store a few months ago. Somehow I gravitated toward Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red. Funny thing was- I wasn't even a tea drinker until I tried red tea. I think I was just looking for something warm to drink in the afternoon that was caffeine free and the red box caught my eye.

The Madagascar Vanilla Red is very mild and has a hint of vanilla to its taste.

I've since tried Republic of Tea's Safari Sunset Red Tea and their Good Hope Vanilla Red. I enjoy both but really love the Sunset Red- it is flavored with cinnamon, cloves and orange. The Republic of Tea stuff is a tad more expensive by the box than Celestial Seasonings but I like it a bit better- and per cup- it is way cheap!

I should add that my tea aversion stemmed from trying green tea years ago and not connecting with its flavor so I avoided all tea. Now I've branched out to black tea too. Still no green for me!

I'm having fun exploring the world of teas- so many flavors!

Teavana has great Rooibos teas. I've tried the peach, tropical, and key lime flavors and all of them are very good. I think I pay about $5 for the smallest bag of loose tea, which is I guess about 2 ounces.

New Teavana at the mall near us. It just opened about 3 weeks ago, and I have been there 4 times. I am not a fan of herbal teas, so am reluctant to try Rooibos. I just may get a cup there to try first. I am hooked on loose tea, and there wasn't a place near us that had it, so Teavana is my new best friend!! :thumbsup2
