We cruise in September and are starting to solidify some of our cruise plans. We were looking at goportcanaveral.com for snooze and cruise packages and one of the few locations with an early port shuttle is the International Palms - Cocoa Beach. I am interested to hear about people's experiences with the hotel and with the parking/shuttle. TIA!

have not stayed there, but a local with some familiarity with the property

this is an older property, formerly the Holiday Inn of Cocoa Beach. It is large with several buildings of rooms. It is one of the FEW hotels actually ON THE BEACH in the greater Cocoa Beach area. Most of our waterfront is condo's. It has been an IP property for around 10 years as I recall. IP has spent a lot of $$ remodeling and refreshing.

here's pictures of the pool area. Nice but even with 'refurb' it is a little dated

they have several bars (including pool and beach) and eating spots, with others in walking distance.

I've been here several times for a big collector car show held annually on the property where many folks come and stay for a long weekend (muti-day show). If the place was horrible the show would move someplace else I suspect. I would imagine that there is a $$ difference for an ocean view ... they also have larger 'loft' rooms.

I haven't stayed at that hotel, but we used Go Port Canaveral last January for our cruise and have already booked with them again for our next cruise, March 2018. Just wanted to mention that about a month before our cruise in Jan., we received an email that our pick up time to go to the port had been changed to 45 mins. later than what it was when I booked with them. At first I was upset, because I wanted to get on the ship as early as possible. The later time actually wasn't so bad, we arrived at the port around noon, and were on the ship 20 mins later. I also just received an email today from them that they no longer work with Stylus transportation company, don't know why this is, but it doesn't matter to us, we had great service with Go Port and I'm sure whoever the new transport company they work with will be just as good.

Thanks for the info. We also used Go Port Canaveral. I hope they don't change our shuttle time, but it will be what it will be. We chose the 10 am shuttle time. Was the hotel itself nice enough for you? I don't need it to be the Ritz....I am just sleeping there and spending some hours at the pool and beach. A few of the trip advisor pictures scared me. LOL

We didn't stay at that hotel, we stayed at Marriot's Inn at Lake Nona in Orlando, it was great.

I like to click on the "Traveler Photos" to get an idea of what a place is really like.

yes but

how old are the pictures? As I said this place has been under refurb' ever since IP bought it ....

just sayin .....

Once we booked a hotel in Sanibel Island, FL. I didn't think some of the hotel areas could be as bad as a few of the "Traveler Photos" indicated, so we went ahead and booked it anyway. Big mistake. Ever since then, I make sure to check the "Traveler Photos" and tend to believe that what you see is what you will get.

Capt BJ - I remember you from Cruise Critic.
