My friend has been trying to eat "in the Zone" for over a year. She lost a lot of weight and she feels great when she's eating "right". It's a balancing diet where you try to eat every meal and snack with a certain percentage of Carbs, Protein and Fat. She really is an inspiration :). I'd like to try it ... I've had good luck with WW Points, but I didn't do well the last time I tried it.

Anyway ... I can't find the "I accept the WISH challenge" thread, so I'll just add the clip-art to my signature :). I'm going to Hawaii in a month, so my short-term goal is the ellusive 10 pounds :).

I haven't tried the zone but I understand it is a controlled carbohydrate plan which seems to work well. I have a friendly acquaintance who followed that plan and it was very successful for both her and her husband.

I follow a controlled carbohydrate plan, too. Good luck with this. I'm so glad you decided to join us :)

Thanks for the welcome!

From what I've learned, it's a lot like Atkins in it's slow-losing phase. Only 30-40% of your diet is carbs where the hypo-glycimic (sp??) level of each carb counts. I am a carb-o-holic ... I love rice and bread and taters, so I'm not sure how I'll do at this. My (best) friend says that she doesn't miss all the carbs that much.

They had a study on Fox recently of three diets. Atkins, Zone and one other that I can't remember. Anyway, they followed people on each of the diets and the Zone was the most successful. Atkins was successful too but the guy got bored with it and quit.

Good luck! I know you can succeed! Having the support here really helps!!!

I'm on a version of the Zone. It's supposedly the most successful plan for those with hypothyroidism
