Looking to go back to disney this August- currently have ressies at Beach Club with postcard code-

I see July codes out for general public..............

ANY WORD OUT FOR AUGUST CODES?????? What do you think?

We are also going in August and staying at the AKL with a AAA rate. I was hoping for a code. What day did the July room only codes come out?

Everyone believes that the codes for August, September and maybe beyond will be up for grabs on 6/28 or after (since that is when the 5 + 2 package deal expires). Let's cross our fingers!!

What is a room code?

Occasionally, WDW discounts certain resorts at certain times of the year w/ a "room code". They provide this code via newspaper (code for certain states), a teachers code, a postcard, even on the WDW official website.

Currently there are postcards and website room codes for July.

It may be worth it to purchase one AP (even if it is a childs) just to get the AP rate with code AZB:

The dates for the following offer are 7/5/04 through 8/28/04:
Value Resorts: rates start at $69.00 (plus tax) per night - $30.00 savings
Moderate Resorts: rates start at $84.00 (plus tax) per night - $60.00 savings
Deluxe Resorts: rates start at $114.00 (plus tax) per night - $85.00 savings

We booked with the AP rate for PORFQ(moderate) for 8-7 thru8-14. But are still hoping for general codes so we do not have to buy one AP.
princess:

Can I book an AP rate without actually having the AP in hand and then buy the AP any day as long as I have it before check in?

Do I buy the AP directly from Disney only???

Thanks,
Vince

VInce - general rule of thumb as I know it ~ is that you can book an AP rate before you go just have an AP at check in.

An ap is an annual pass that you can purchase for unlimited entry into the 4 WDW parks for one year. There is also another ap called the Premium Annual Pass (pap) and it allows entry into the parks and the water parks for one year.

I am still patiently waiting on room only codes for August. Although we secured a Disney Visa 7/4 deal back in February, our first night is room only at the AKL before we move over to the BWI for the 7/4 deal. I have a AAA discount on the AKL(with tax $189) but would love to get that down even more. So I wait....

Thanks everyone-

Still hoping August codes will come out- they usually do as per previous experience!

Disney will require you to have a valid Annual Pass when you check-in in order to receive the annual pass room only discount. This means your actual annual pass, and not the voucher you receive in the mail when you purchase an annual pass through Disney.

Vince-

Yes you can call and apply the code to your ressie and then buy your AP later. AT MCO (assuming you are flying in) there is a Disney Earport where you can buy your AP and they will activate it for you right then and there. That way you will have the activated pass in your hand, which is what you need at checkin. This eliminates you having to go to DTD or to a park to activate it before you check in. I have heard that sometimes if you show your voucher at checkin and tell them you are going to go activate it, they will let you slide, but I have also heard that they have made people go activate first and then come back and check in. Just some info you may need.

I talked to a CM the other day about checking in with only the voucher and at 1st she was saying I could check-in w/ just the voucher then she said no, I would have to have it activated 1st. I asked her if there was a place to do so at MCO (b/c I was sure I read something about that) and she told me "no", only inside the World and I should ask the driver to stop at DTD so I can have it activated there before we get to the hotel.
Shouldn't the CM's be a little more knowledgable on topics like this. Maybe someone should inform them about activating the AP's at MCO.
