Any way to turn a Disney Store ONLINE gift card into a regular Disney gift card?

I got an email from disneystore.com that my aunt sent me a "gift card" for my BD. She thought I'd be able to use it at Disney World for our upcoming trip. But it's a code to use online, not an actual card.

I tried going to disneystore.com and just buying a gift card with the code, but it won't let me. Anyone have any ideas or know if it's possible to turn it into a "real" gift card I can use at Disney World?

He the original purchaser call and see if they can switch it out. If not you might try selling it to someone who could use it.

Can you purchase something online, and then return it to the store and get credit in the form of an actual GC?
I don't know the policies of The Disney Store so I don't know how they handle internet returns when using a CG as payment.

Without knowing how much the card was for, (assuming its isn't the hotel bill) could you use it to get some advance souvineers? The website has a whole section for theme park merchendise, plus pins, vinylmation, tshirts, etc.
I am pretty sure there is a difference between Disney GC and Disney Store GC. I got some packs of Disney GC at Sams club that come with a bonus 10 Disney Store GC- which can be used at the website or in store onl.y Also they can't be used for ticket purchases, the purchase of Disney GC or Disney Dollars.

I had the same thing happen. A well meaning friend got me an electronic gift card that could only be used online at disneystore.com. She thought she had bought an actual gift card that we could take to the parks. (she didn't) Not wanting to hurt her feelings, I sold it on ebay and used the $ for our trip. Unfortunately I lost a fair chunk of it to ebay/paypal fees and I sold it for less than the full amount. Oh well. She meant well...
