Are there any reputable VA sites that you can recommend for stay-at-home moms? Thanks!!!!!!!

What is a VA?

Are you looking for someone to employ or a program/website that does the work for you?

Sorry, totally out of the loop here.

If you are looking to start a business, the web sites wahm.com and workplacelikehome.com may be helpful. WAHM has a virtual assistant folder.

If you have to pay for it, it's not legitimate.

And as a side note, I want to say something. You say you're a SAHM. Can you do all the work of a virtual assistant while your children are there? You'll need to be able to do things like answering phones (without crying in the background, it's a professional environment) and all the other work that comes along with a normal assistant job. It's something I seem to see a lot of people overlooking. Unless your kids are school aged, I'd say you'd still actually need childcare for them even if your job is virtual. Just my two cents.

Also wanted to add, a lot of the people who I've seen start successful home businesses did just that, started the business on their own. Jobs in that area are very scarce and very competitive because who doesn't want to work from home? I've seen moms start all sort of businesses though from organic produce delivery to childcare to actual office services and baby gyms.

I thought most VA's were in places like India now where they can pay them a lot less yet they are very well educated.

I know someone who started her own virtual assistant business. She doesn't just do the personal assistant type work - she also does marketing, social media, PR, fundraising. I do know she used this site to get her started:

I would expand your search. Think about the people that you know that may need some work done. I'm self-employed and have been thinking about hiring an assistant. Because of the way I've structured my business, I would like to hire someone that can do some work out of their home but would also come to my home to do some work (I work from home). Put the word out among the people that you know and you might find something. Rather than saying "do you have any work for me" describe the what you can offer, then ask "do you know of anyone who might need my services or have other ideas?" Good luck with your efforts!
