Any VIA Rail discounts?

I was wanting to take myself and my 5 year old on a train trip, but the prices are quite high - anybody have any way to get a discount? I know that last year around Christmas time there was a promotion that if you bought the Curious George movie on DVD it contained a code inside for a child to receive a free ticket. Just wondering if there was anything like that this year? TIA

Hey there.
The last 2 summers kids have travelled free with a paying adult.
We went to Ottawa on the Via (just because we wanted to take the train) and both our kids went for free....great deal.
Go to the via rail website and look under the special section.....
Here is a link to the page with specials right now.
It won't just give you the special when booking yourself online you have to know what the special is and make sure it puts it on when you book ...it can be finicky.
