We just bought and were wondering if anyone on the DIS from Vermont were DVC members (or just plain DISers?)

Hello from Montpelier where it's going to be -20 tonight!

We recently bought at the BCV and are headed for our first trip home in February. We live in Essex Junction. Which airport do you use to fly out of?

I'm chiming in from the Middlebury area, wish I was in warmer weather now! Brr... We always fly Southwest non-stop out of Albany.

Ok, kind of cheating......I sometimes work in White River Jct, Randolph and Ludlow.....but live in NH!!!! Is it ever going to warm up?????

We usually fly out of Burlington. In May - our first trip home - we are using US Airways because I had some FF miles, otherwise we go JetBlue.

Manchester NH is cheaper (Southwest Air), but by the time we drive the 2 plus hours down and pay to park the car for the entire time, etc., it ends up being not worth it. I can get someone to drop us off and pick us up out of Burlington.

I am hoping to get BCV in September. I need to wait for the 7 month window. I'm trying to talk my daughter and her boyfriend into joining us (they are 20 somethings), but we are not cool enough for them!

Hey it's supposed to warm up to 20's ABOVE ZERO tomorrow!

Coachsting - I want to go south in Feb! Waaah! Have a great trip.

Hi Pig Pen:wave:

Can you believe this I am from Montpelier too:)

My DH and I just became DVC owners in Nov, and I have just booked our entire family into BCV in December for a magical Christmas trip, it will be our first trip Home:bounce: :bounce:

I have been a DIS for about a year now.

I'm not really a DVC member yet, but we're getting closer:smooth:

I'm from Morrisville. We're going Jet Blue in 16 days.

Hello, fellow Vermonters! Good to see there are so many of us for such a small state.

We have been members since 1995 and live in South Burlinigton. We're heading to OKW for 18 days on February 22nd with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson.

Can't wait to warm up after this cold winter weather we have been experiencing!

Glad to see VT is finally getting represented! Quite a few years ago they had a map showing DVC members....I think VT had something like 14. (I'll have to see if I can come across it.)

Does JetBlue fly non-stop out of Burlington? My brother and family live in Williston and I love to take them to my "home" in Florida. I think this year they could really use a dose of warm weather. Every time I think it's cold here in CT I think of you Vermonters! 20 doesn't feel so bad if it doesn't have a "MINUS" sign in front of it. ;)

It's a small world (after all...), Pam. My daughter and her family live in Williston.

I believe all JetBlue flights out of BTV to MCO go through Kennedy. It's still a quick trip though...about 5 hours total.

My family (of four) was supposed to go Feb 22 with our best friends, a family of five, but my son has the state high school hockey championship, which means the longer they succeeed, it means the boy and I don't go., So, we are making plans for June after school gets out. It's a bummber cuz it's our first trip to our new "home."

JetBlue out of Burlington is not direct, unfortunately.

A JFK stop isn't bad. Heck, we could meet up on the flight since I'd go out of JFK, too! Now, if I start bumping into fellow DVC'ers in the Burlington area that will be kind of wild!

Coachsting I'm glad your son is doing well but it won't be the same going VT to FL in June as it would have been this month. ;) Snow drifts to palm trees just adds something to the magic.

I found two different breakouts of members. As of October 1, 1993 there were 7,000 DVC members and 13 of them were from the great state of Vermont. Even Rhode Island had 67 members. ;) The rest of New England broke out at 62 from NH, 39 from Maine, 383 Massachusetts and 224 Connecticut. NY had 698 which was the most of any state. There was one very bright but very lonely member living in Wyoming.

I haven't got a date on the other map but it mentions OKW selling out which was 1998. Membership was up to 25,000 at that point but Vermont still only had 46 members.

NY still had the greatest membership and was up to 3,162. The Wyoming member had been joined by 5 friends bringing the total there up to 6. ;)
