OK, here's the deal. We usually go in May when crowds are lower. I normally plan a park day, then a pool day, and it goes well. But this year we are going in July. I'm not used to the crowds and heat so I made this plan based on the "go in the morning, take a break, and go back in the evening" theory. I get exhausted just looking at it. So many parks every day!!!

Also, we are staying at OKW on my parent's DVC points so we will not have the dining plan. We plan to have the DDE card. So most breakfasts and lunches will be back at our room. Also DH is not planning on going to all these parks, he want to hang by the pool. So that is why I have so many PS for places NOT in the parks

Ready??? Here it is...

Sun: check in
check out the new OKW slide. Lots of swimming
dinner: PS at 1900 Park Fare
MK after dinner

Mon: EPCOT in the am (hopefully am EMH)
back to pool for swimming and rest.
dinner: Ohana PS

Tue: MGM in am (again hoping for an am EMH)
afternoon break
dinner: Boma PS
MAYBE (if not too hot) go to AK right before or after dinner (if there is a pm EMH)

Wed: MK in morning
afternoon swim
Whispering Canyon PS for dinner
back to MK for (hopeful) EMH in evening

Thur: sleep in and swim
EPCOT for any missed attractions (another hopeful pm EMH)
PS dinner at Akershus

Fri: MK (using the hoped for am EMH)
Lunch PS at Plaza Restaurant
OKW for more swimming
DTD in evening with possible dinner at Rainforest Cafe (getting the safari club card.

I feel like I left no room for "free time" but I figure if we want to we can skip stuff for pony rides, or DTD. We decided no water parks this year as they will probably be jammed in July. I want to keep this vacation as stress free as possible, but I want to be prepared for the crowds too.

Any comments are welcome. I made this plan based on "projected" EMH days that have been posted before. I think we will go back to May trips after this.

This looks like a plan I might make up, although I don't spend quite that much time at MK. I never get in everything though because we might need a break here or there. I think it's a good plan and then play it by ear. Usually by the end of the week we decide to cut something out and just hang out by the pool, but that's OK I figure, as long as we're having fun. But like I said, it definitely looks like a plan I might make up. Just be flexible.

BTW, Olivia's at OKW is really a good restaurant if you want to save travel time for a meal. We went there for breakfast in December and loved it. Doing it again next trip if we can fit it in, I'd like to try dinner there. Also, we rented points from a DVC owner last July and stayed at OKW. Loved it. You'll have a great time.

Thanks. My parents own DVC points at OKW, that's where we stay every year. We love it there. Can't wait to see the new slide! If we are allowed to pool hop, (DVC members are allowed to do that when the pool is not crowded) we may just go to Poly and swim during one of our MK days. Or BWV during an EPCOT day. We'll play it by ear.

I've got two girls, 8 and 5 and we spend a LOT of time at the MK!!! That's why I have so many bits of days there. I will ONLY go to AK if it's not too hot. I really want to take hubby to EPCOT to ride M:S and check out Sourin. I love EPCOT and really want to explore there this trip. So I got two visits there planned.

I only want to hit MGM for Rockin Roller Coaster and TT. It won't bother me if we miss this park this trip. We go so much that we really don't have to do it all.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

We've gone in the summer and we're going back this July. That's the type of plan we always stick to too; go early, leave around luchtime, go swim, go back in the evening. We also do a lot at MK, my daughters are now 8 & 10 (MGM is their other favorite princess: ) One thing to remember, drink a lot of water and pray for rain :p . There's nothing like a good downpour to clear the parks out - although it does interfere with swimming :fish:

we're going in Aug - not planning on the parks until our 3rd full day - planning monorail pool hopping those first few days (DVC)
We're planning each of the parks at their regular openings once. The other 7 days we'll start at the pools and then hit the parks at night. Most days we're either doing parks in the morns or night - not both

Thanks. I feel I've got a good plan of attack for this trip. I start calling for PSs on Monday! I'm so excited!!!

Great plan. We go every July and you need to have a break back to the room midday. We go when the part opens and usually start leaving about 12 noonbecause by about 2pm-4pm the sun is at it's worst. It's only good for napping or swimming. Keep in mind, there is usually a brief thunderstorm around that time, too, to cool things down.

Have a great time!

I'd skip the EMH days at every park. With WDW resorts at high capacity, you can expect EMH parks to be extra crowded.

I'd go first thing in the morning to a park that doesn't have an EMH at that time. From 9AM to 12 noon you sould be able to get half a park done on a non-EMH day. Break in the afternoon, then go back in the evening to a park.

If you are a night owl, you can always parkhop to a nighttime EMH and check out the crowd after visiting an early morning non-EMH park. Just make sure you are there for rope drop in the morning, and use FP as much as possible.

Yeah, I've been going back and forth on whether to go on EMH mornings or not. The fact that I don't know for sure that these are EMH days doesn't make it easier. I wish they would put park hours out before the 90 day mark!

Do EMH at MK, especially in the morning. We skipped EMH at the other parks in July and went to those parks AT OPENING the day after their EMH.

It sounds like a relaxing vacation to me. ;) We love the EMH mornings during the summer because it is cooler and we can see more and get back to the hotel to swim as the heat and crowds are building.

Sounds like a great vacation to me! Have a magical time!

Our kids are similar in age and the one thing I found was that as the vacation week progressed, it got harder to get them back out to a park after dinner -- DH also wanted to stay in, so 1 night I hit MK solo and watched Spectro and Wishes and rode around for a few hours, which was great fun!

That sounds like a great plan. The only thing I would do different would be to go to AK in the morning. In the Summer, when the weather is hot, you really won't see that many animals (too hot for them). If you go first thing in the morning (when it opens) and ride the safari ride you will see plenty of animals. Just a suggestion :flower:

Actually, I wasn't planning on AK at all this trip. After sweating it out there last May, I promised I wouldn't go back till I take a winter trip. I just thought that if we were going to Boma, and it was a EMH night and it was unseasonable cool. It could be a nice idea. Thanks for all the feedback.
