Any TURBO TAX users?

I am wondering if any other DISER's have had expierence w/ Turbo Tax. I filed my federal and state returns electronically via them. Anyhow, at the end it gave me the option to have my refund processed through the Santa Monica Bank- and they would deduct my turbo tax fee's via that. I picked this option.

What I'm wondering is--- the IRS website shows my refund is going to be deposited tomorrow. Now- how long will it take for me to get my money deposited via Santa Monica Bank? Will that happen the same day- or another week? Just wondering what to expect. I want to pay my school taxes w/ part of it and they're due w/o penalty next week.

I had my tiny federal refund in about a week and I was able to pay what I owed the state through them, too, so it was really convenient.

About paying them with the refund....I was under the impression there was a fee for that. I chose to pay them with my debit card. I seem to remember there being a fee for that option.

Anyone else?

I forget the actual timing of the deposit, but it's pretty quick after you receive notice. You'd have to check with your bank to find out exactly when the money's deposited, though.

I have used Turbo Tax to do my taxes for the past 8 years or so. I will continue to do so.

The past 2 or 3 years, I have filed electronically and had my refund direct deposited into my checking account. It has taken anywhere from 10 - 21 days from the time I filed until the money was in my account. Usually, if they say the money will be deposted on a certain day, it is that day that it is in your bank.

My question is......are you filing late?? Or early?? :confused3

We were late. This is the 3rd year in a row. I do end up paying about $50 in penalties for this. The bank was going to take something like a $25 fee too. Not that I couldn't use the $75--I really have no excuse for filing late except that I just wasn't up on it this year. As for the fee to the bank- way I looked at it was it was still less w/the turbo tax fee's than using H&R Block or the like.
I check my bank account online pretty much every morning. We haven't had a refund in several years and I'm pretty excited. I'm getting new windows for my dining room and I'm thinking some Disney tickets-- well and those pesky school taxes.

Our checks were always deposited the day they said they would be. Our bank made the funds available as soon as the money was in the account. Every bank will handle that differently so you might want to ask about that at your bank. Direct deposits don't show up online at our bank until 6:30 AM the day of the deposit, so if a check was DD'd tomorrow, it would show up tomorrow at 6:30 online.

Actually, if you are getting a refund then you are not late. I believe you have at least 3 years to file your taxes when you are getting a refund.

Our bank did not charge us a fee to have the money direct deposited.

Is this your personal bank account you are having it sent to?

Enjoy your refund!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice. The IRS website said they were depositing the money 9/30, and to contact them if it didn't show up in our account by 10/7. Well, as of this morning the money is there. So, I guess 9/30 meant 9/30 in this case. Thanks again!!!!
