Anyone use certain sites like Hotwire to book rooms for WDW resorts? We were thinking of going in middle of June but decided to go in May before Memorial Day right after my son graduates but everything is costing $2,000 more than what we looked at in June :0 Any tips/tricks to save our family of 8 some money would be helpful! We are first timers to WDW & feeling a little clueless! TIA :)

Have you tried a DVC rental 2 bedroom ?

What price target/budget are you shooting for?
Well we had Pop Century quots for mid-June for around $2600 for 1 room including tickets for 4 & we need it x2! But when we looked at dates in May before Memorial Day the price went up significantly:0 Added $2,000 more to the trip! The cheaper the better but want to stay on property as this is a once in a lifetime trip & won't be together probably for awhile if ever.

I’ve always found the best way to find out if there are any on site discounts, is to call Disney direct and ask what discounts are available for the time you plan to go. Phone reps can’t offer the information but if you ask them they will tell you what’s available.

Also, I usually check www.mousesavers.com as they list every conceivable discount available at WDW.

The cheapest onsite resort should be ASMovies, not Pop Century, not that it's going to save you a ton of money to switch. Sometimes you can get a good bargain with a Priceline Express or Hotwire Hot rate. There's a Disboards thread concerning those: https://www.disboards.com/threads/priceline-express-deals.3598657/page-347#post-62697720 . However, as a PP mentioned, those bargains usually don't show up this early. Hotwire has some February and March deals on Pop and ASMovies (after it reopens) now, but I don't think they have anything for April, let alone May, out yet.

Edit: here's a link to an article discussing the March Hotwire Hot deals: https://touringplans.com/blog/2021/02/09/hotwire-deals-for-march/

There is an up to 30% discount (stress up to because it depends on resort) through early July. That came out last month and there is always limited availability. I have done searches for people and found room inventory getting scare. With Memorial Day that is probably limiting even more
