Any tricks for getting character dining reservations?

Well, we booked our trip 175 days in advance and every single character dining experience is already booked during our dates (November 9-14). Before I despair completely, is it likely that something will open up as the dates approach and people cancel? Our goal is Cinderella's Royal Table, but we would settle for any other princess experience (Akershus, 1900 Park Fare, Be Our Guest, am I missing any?)

Yes people cancel all the time. The only "trick" is to to be persistent in trying - daily or even several times a day.
BOG is not a princess meal, not even a character meal. At dinner only, the Beast is usually in his study for a photo op after dinner.

On my trip, I started the entire planning process in July, and we were travelling in October. Checked everyday whenever I could, stalked the cancelled ADR boards, and had great success getting all reservations we wanted. I even got a BOG dinner we ended up giving up.

Just be persistent. Very persistent.

They have services that for a small fee will try to get the reservation for you. I have had a couple of friends use them and they got what they wanted including BOG.

People cancel a lot. This far out I would not bother with paying a fee for a service. People cancel a lot as plans change and things get finalized. Find the November cancellation thread here in the Dis and subscribe to it, and check for reservations daily.

Go to the main forum page where they are all listed, click "Disney Restaurants" then at the top "Disney Dining Reservations". Once there search for November.

November has been a tough month for reservations, many of us are having issues, even when we booked at 180+10. Just keep checking, I check daily and sometimes twice a day.

FYI, Be Our Guest only has the Beast, and only during dinner. He meets in the library and does not make the rounds to every table. You mentioned "Princess" experiences, so I wanted you to know.
