I make my ADRs tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has any tips on getting through the prompts quickly and if the 407-WDW-DINE is the best number to call. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

:wizard: I started calling about 6:57 AM and the office wasn't open so heard the prompts and knew what was coming...then I kept redialing until I got through. I was through the prompts and talking to a CM by 7:04. I think starting to call before they actually open gets you on quicker. Good luck!

Agree start a drop early, hit re-dial
More importantly, Have a Back up time or place just in case...you'll plow thru quicker and then you can always change things AFTER you atleast got some ADR's.
BUT, people are now posting that they ARE getting where/when they want:banana:
Best of Luck!!!!!:wizard:

Wake up really really late. The good stuff is never available in the morning! ;) (I make mine tomorrow too!)

I am going to call early. I have also prioritized my reservations so that I know what to ask for first Le Cellier, 2nd Chef Mickeys, etc. I have windows so that I know what I can and can't accept based on what my plans are.

BEfore i made my ADRs i was extremely nervous due to the message one board about being on hold for so long. I called at 7 and got right through. I asked for the most important one first and so on. I also tried for days after that because i was looking for earlier times and all times got right through at 7 and even a few hours after that no problem. Dont call after work, it is really busy at that time.

7am which time? Florida time, whis east coast, or another time zone, like where I live in Chicago which is an hour behind?

7 AM Florida time.
Try to put the most difficult to get ADRs towards the end of your trip, and be flexible on days and times-good luck!

When I made my ADR's for August, I woke up 15 min beforehand (6:45 am EST) in order to make sure I didn't sound groggy while talking to the CM. haha! At 6:59 am, I started dialing the dining hotline. You'll get a pre-recorded message saying "Sorry, our office is closed...." or something to that effect. I would just hang up and dial right back. Somehow I timed it right and one of my calls connected right at 7:00 am, you should hear a chime-sound which lets you know the lines are open. You'll then have to go through a series of prompts, such as for English press 1, have you been to WDW before, .... since 2005, are you making ADRS for 8 or more people and for Victoria and Alberts. It's even better if you can guess what the prompts are and cut off the recording. I was put through immediately.

As other posters have said, HAVE BACKUPS. I think it's a good idea to have 3 choices of restaurants you might want on a certain day, along with a time frame (mine was 6-7 pm). And if you don't get exactly what you want, keep calling back, especially at 45 days prior to your arrival, since that's when vacations have to be paid-in-full and people might be cancelling their vacations, and subsequenty their ADRs!
