Any tips to improve chances of an early check in?

The way flights are structured from my small regional airport I have 2 choices. Fly into MCO after 11PM, or take a red eye and get in at 5AM.
The last time I flew to Florida on the 11PM flight, and it was delayed by an hour and a half. We didn't get to sleep until after 2 AM and slept kind of poorly.

Against all logic and reason we are trying the red eye this time, getting what little sleep we can on the plane and hoping that adrenaline will keep us going in one of the parks until we eat a late lunch. It would be so nice to finish our late lunch (1:45PM Reservations) and be able to have a 2:30 or 3PM check in for our room so we can crash hard. So as the title says, is there any tips that will make getting an early check in more likely? That extra hour or two is going to mean more to us that first than it usually would...

Thanks in advance!

Nothing you can do in advance. When your pre-assigned room is ready depends on when the previous occupants vacated the room, when housekeeping starts cleaning the room, what condition it was left in by previous guests and the size of the villa.

If you stop at the front desk and they say it's not ready yet, you can ask if there is another room in your same category is available.

Call MS and put in a single request for "first available" when you get to the resort ask them again for the first available, no other requests.

If you can go to the resort in the morning and ask for first available, that might help too, then go to the park.

I know you didn't ask this, but for next time - another option when we've taken a late night flight is to book a room at the Hyatt at MCO, sleep there and save some points, and then take DME and start your day as you would. Sometimes being able to walk from your plane almost right into a bed has helped make the next day pretty doable.

Some people book the room a day early so it will be available at 6AM.

I am doing that on our trip in 3 weeks. We fly in at 4:30 AM sunday morning, and, though some of us will want to go to the park all day, my wife and possibly some of our grandkids will want a place to crash, immediately.

We made a similar trip last year, where we went to Universal studios for a few days, first. Well, we flew in early (on the same flight as this year), we notified them. We asked for early check in, if possible, and we honestly had to wait until 5 PM. It was very frustrating. So my wife requested we have something ready.

I have been taking the red eye from CA since we moved there 5 years ago. I request first available and always stop by the front desk to let them know that I have arrived. So far, the only times we have waited past 1pm for our room is when we stay at AKL CL. I know these things don’t guarantee a room ready for us but so far we have been lucky.

We have asked at the front desk and just requested first available, no other requests. They have been pretty helpful.
