We have a trip to WDW scheduled in late August with my immediate family(4), and the in-laws(2). When it was just the four of us, we never have a hard time getting a table at a good time at BoG (as long as the resv. was made around the 180 day mark). Since the in-laws haven't been to WDW since 2009, and haven't seen the Fantasyland expansion, I wanted them to have dinner at BoG. My window doesn't open until 2/25, but I have been doing a "Dry run" at 6am the last week trying to get a reservation to get use to the online process. Every time I request party of 6, I never get a time earlier then 8:50pm, but if I request a party of 4 I am given a 4pm, 5pm, or 6pm time. Does adding two people really make that much of a difference? Are there any tricks to get a reservation at an earlier time with a party of 6?

Try to book a table of two and a table of four for the same time.

There are fewer 6 top tables than 4 tops. If you are staying at a Disney owned resort take advantage of the 180 + 10. Start towards the end of your trip and book BOG first. Continue checking and re-booking if a better day/time comes up.

If you book a party of 4, then you'll need to look for a party of 2 for the same/close to time, but it will have to be in another person's name, etc. Also, you will have to request to be seated together when you check in, but there is not guaranteed.

If you show up with 2 extra people, the CMs will do their best to seat everyone, but you may have to wait longer or they may not be able to accommodate you. For most restaurants the fire code is a major concern, but with the capacity of BOG this is probably not as crucial since most of the time they do not use the Music Box room at dinner. However, we were at a different DW restaurant that was so far behind schedule it was turning away walk ups, latecomers and extra people not on a reservation.

I check in on August 16. My ADR day was today and have a party of 10. I was able to get BOG for the last night of our trip by splitting 5 and 5 or 6 and 4. Both were available. Hopefully this means you'll be able to get 6.

Don't give up and just keep checking. I didn't know about BOG when my 180 days came up, so it wasn't on my radar. Then after being on this board I knew it would be something we'd want to do since two of my DDs' favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. I found an ADR for 6 within two months of our arrival date. I just kept checking the day that I wanted periodically and was so surprised when an available time popped up one day!

been trying for a party of six all week for last two weeks in august, nothing for six but 2 and 3 people no problem, not loking good this time

I just booked BOG for a party of 6 for 8/28 at 6:10pm. I was online right at 6:00am and that was the first ressie I searched for. I searched for a res at 6:00 and was given choices of 5:00 or 6:10. So it can be done! Be online right at 6:00am on your ADR day and try for a date towards the end of your trip. Good luck!
