Hello-
We are planning to go to the Magic Kingdom the end of the month. We have a 3 yr old and a 4mth old who is exculsively breastfed. Any tips would be appreciated.

This may be a stupid question but how do you handle infants on the rides (PeterPan, Pooh, Dumbo things like that can they ride while being held?? ) I have never paid attention to what people did with young babies but I don't want to be sitting everything out with the baby while my husband takes our toddler.

What are good locations to breast feed (beside the baby care areas). We currently do not have a double stroller should we get one or just use two? We are Florida residents but live about 1 1/2 hours from the park so I was kind of thinking to stay on property one night and the Contemp Resort is sounding real nice (easy access) however the price is at least twice (garden view) or three times (tower- MK view) what we would pay at the All Stars or Pop. Should we splurge anyway or wait til both kids would enjoy ?

Any and all advice welcomed the more the better!!!

Our first family trip to MK was with my then 4 year old and my then 6mos old. The 6 month old was exclusively breast feeding at the time. We had a wonderful time!! We had to take it slow and make sure the kids did not get over heated or exhausted, but we still managed to do alot. The baby rode on our lap for most of the rides like small world, peter pan, snow white. The bigger rides, we did child swap with one of us waiting with the baby. I nursed at the nursing station once, but otherwise we would take our time eating meals and I would discreetly nurse in counter service restaurants. I know :scared1: to some people!! As long as we ate at off times, sat in a corner, and used a blanket to cover him, I didn't have a problem with it and we didn't get any rude comments. My main advice would be to take it easy and enjoy the experience. It's been over 7 years now and we certainly don't regret doing it!! :thumbsup2

P.S. I would also rent a double stroller if I were you, don't have to lug strollers back and forth to the car and don't have to park two strollers at every ride.

As far as I know, you may breast feed juat about anywhere where food and drink is permitted, and at any time. You don't "have" to trek back to the infant care area or eat at odd times.

As far as I know, the infant may accompany you on any ride or attraction with adequqte seating space (you may consume two seats) and without a specific applicable restriction such as for height.

The 3yo probably won't appreciate the difference between the Contemporary and Pop Century. The 4mo probably won't remember anything.

We just got back Tuesday from our first trip with our dd who turned 3. We splurged and stayed at the Contemporary in the MK view room, it was expensive but since she goes to bed so early we were able to watch the Wishes parade and the fireworks from our room.

In addition to the convenience of the monorail which in my opinion is priceless with little ones.

We booked alot of character dining since that is what she loved the most, so glad we did. That way in the parks we didn't have to wait in line in the heat to meet Cinderella. We were able to be in air conditioning with the character coming up to our table while we ate.

Good luck and I am sure you will have a great time!!!

The Hall of Presidents is the perfect place to breastfeed, especially when its really hot out.

I forgot all about the Hall of Presidents!! :lmao: I did discreetly nurse in there during our trip. It was only 25% full and most of the people were snoozing anyway!

No offense to Hall of President lovers! You might be able to discreetly nurse on Carousel of Progress too, it's dark and cool in there and unlikely that anyone would notice or mind. Plus it's a great ride :thumbsup2

We were there a month ago, with our 3 girls, 5, 2.5 and 3 mos (at the time). I nursed the baby EVERYWHERE! I'm normally a pretty discreet breastfeeder, but we did have a couple of times where she just couldn't wait and the meltdown was imminent! So I'd just turn away and pop on her real quick.

Otherwise, I did feed her in restaurants quite a lot. Also pretty much every show - Philharmagic, Muppets, Little Mermaid, etc. Partially to keep her quiet and also just to take advantage of the darkness and the sit-down time so we could keep moving. There are lots of benches and out of the way places. I didn't encounter a single person who seemed offended. Well, possibly one family who I think were French who kept looking at me and talking right in front of me, but that could have been because I was sort of half hunched over, perched on a fence in front of Splash Mountain and probably looked really weird. ;) Other times I'd just latch her on, cover her up and walk along.

I've only used the Baby Care Center at Animal Kingdom, but it was wonderful.

As for rides, we just took her on most things that the older two were riding. Obviously we sat out a couple of things (my parents were with us too) but all of those you mentioned (Peter Pan, Pooh) plus Nemo, Buzz Lightyear, Spaceship Earth, etc. worked out just fine. She even rode the Maelstrom and the Safari at AK. I just held her head close to me. Often she was in the Baby Bjorn on me or my husband, which made it a bit easier.

I did buy a double stroller before we went, a Maclaren Rally Twin. Loved it! It reclines enough for a little one, although I put a few blankets on the bottom and around her to keep her a bit more secure. The Mac that's the next step up (Techno maybe?) is probably even better for an infant.

Have a ball!

I too breastfed everywhere. I just wanted to add that we like to stay Deluxe for the transportation too but our kids love the POP!!! They always want to go back to that resort! I have to admit that we (dh &I) had a ball there too! Those Goofy fountains entertained us for hours! princess:

The Tomorrowland Transportation Authority is WONDERFUL! I love that ride. We go to Disney often, and I have rode that thing many many times to nurse my baby and to just relax.

Other than that, I just try to find an out-of-the-way place. There are discreet little corners of Disney that you can find it you are looking for it. Or the corner of a restaurant with a blanket.

We took our then 5,4 and 4 month old back in May of 05. The 4 month old was only breastfeeding. I purchased a Maya Wrap baby sling for the trip to carry him in and it worked great. You can also breastfeed in them discreetly. When he wanted to nurse, I just put him in the sling and fed whereever we was at. We never had to visit a baby station for that. It really was a life saver there.

Just wanted to add that the AK baby care center is great. Your 3 year old can take a break and watch a movie and play with toys while you're nursing. This was my favorite baby center.

I forgot about the CR or POP. We have stayed at both the CR garden view and the POP. We would not trade how close the CR is with the MK walkway and monorail for anything. That was so great when leaving the MK at night. There is usually a lot of people headed to the buses or monorail, but we avoided all of them with the walkway. It only takes about 5 minutes. The POP was nice, but when we were there it was about 95% full they said. So when leaving the MK with everyone else going to the POP we had a long bus wait. One night I think we waited close to 30 minutes for a bus. After a long day at MK its the last thing you want to do with tired kids (and parents) is wait for a bus. Go for the CR is sooooo worth it.:thumbsup2
