Any Thoughts - End Of June or Beginning of August?

If you had to choose between going to WDW the end of June (around June 20th) or the beginning of August (first or second week) which one would you choose & why?

Here's the situation. Me, DH, & SIL all work for the school system, so a summer vacation is our only option. DH & I work for a different school system than my SIL, so our school start & end dates are a little different, thus limiting the weeks in June & August that we can go.

We've been in June our last 3 trips, but about a week or so earlier than what next years plans will allow. We don't mind the heat & know about the rain in FL in the summer (our last trip we had downpours most of the day the entire week we were there). What else should we consider? Would the crowds be any more or less in August?

Thanks a bunch for you thoughts!

Crowd wise, August is better; June is busy with graduation, etc. The whole summer is rainy, but if you plan your days right, you'll be indoors during the afternoon rain.

Have a great trip! :)

We'll be there the first week of August. I've never been this time of year before, we usually go in Sept. or Oct. I've been worried about crowds and the heat also, since my DH's Dad and also my parents will be joining us and they're not spring chickens!lol We've bought some mini fans and misty mates to help keep cool, and plan on some afternoon breaks by the pool as well.

We'll also be there the first week of August, and I couldn't be more excited! I'll take the heat, the humidity, the crouds and the thunderstorms - a bad day at WDW still beats a good day at home!!

I'm a teacher too and have been to WDW both in June and August. I couldn't tell much difference in the crowds at the end of June and the beginning of August because most schools are still out of session. It might be a little less crowded the second week of August. I believe it rained in August every afternoon for about 30 minutes, similar to June. It will be hotter, but that just means you can go to swim at the waterparks and the resort pool! Whenever you choose to go, you will have a great time because you are at Disney! Here is a sight with typical weather history from past years:

we have been in june and in aug. before and if it were me we will go back in june. Not because anything at disney but because it is a hassle for us to go in aug. as ds's start school around that time and it is just easier for us!
Although, i did like the weather in aug. better when we went--it was mild and had no major downpours! In june when we went it rained for 2 days straight with heavy rains! No matter which one you choose i am sure you will have tons of fun--it is disney world after all!!!:teeth:

We have been in August as well. The crowds are bearable, and yes it was HOT!! Disney Quest and Magic Kingdom were the worst as far as getting on something to ride or play anything. Still had a wonderful time.
