Any therapy dog owner?

I just took a class with Delta Society, trying to certify my doggie. I still need to read the book and my dog has to pass the test. I just don't know if my dog will enjoy it, even though I think he's gifted in this area. He always love to go up to kids and seniors and ask for a pat. And it seems to build up his own confidence over time too (he's a rescued doggie).

Anyone with experience?

Our Simon isn't a therapy dog. When my FIL was first in a nursing home. DH would take Simon to visit him. He then of course was asked to make the rounds to some other patients. He had a blast. He just loved meeting everyone and getting hugs and kisses from strangers. I sometimes think that dogs have a sixth sense in this area. To even further his socialization you can sit outside a store and let people come up to him and pet him. That is how we socialize any new pups that we bring home.
