Any TDS CM's....what the status of our discount?

When I was shopping on Thursday, they thought yesterday might be the last day of the DVC discount since Children's Place takes ownership effective today, Just wondering if there is any official word?

I was told by a TDS SM that we would keep our discount. I also read somewhere else(can't remember where) that this discount was negoiated between TDS and DVC, and had nothing to do with WDC. So even though TCP now owns TDS they need to honor the agreement. I hope this is true.

You are correct that today is the day, it is a sad day for a lot of us CM's that are no longer Disney CM's.

We were told about 2 weeks ago that TCP would still be giving the 10% DVC discount. Of course this is all subject to change, but as of right now we will still be giving the DVC discount. As of today, the only change in the store for the guest will be that we will not be giving out the Disney Direct Catalog (formerly Disney Store Catalog)

Is the catalog company now seperate from the Disney Store? I know they changed their web address.

Disney kept the catalog operation, they did not sell that to The Children's Place.

TCP purchased the rights to the website too, thus the website address change to disneydirect.

After a reasonable amount of time, the plan is for TCP/TDS will have Disney merchandise at their site that will be the same as the merchandise in the store, same prices too.

Disneydirect will continue as a division of Disney

Since the catalogs are the merchandise of another company, they will no longer be available in the stores as of today.

At this time the discount for DVC will continue.

You can imagine the level of sadness I felt this morning to realize I no longer work for Disney.

Went shopping at our local Disney Store yesterday and both employees at the register said they stopped honoring the DVC discount 6 months ago!!!!! I know this is not so because that very same store gave me the discount when I purchased my daughter's Halloween costume! Now, 10% is not something to make a stink about, but I do like consistency.

As a TDS CM, Who just got off work about an hour ago, I personally processed 5 DVC discounts of 10% under the new TCP ownership.

It is also true no more DisneyDirect catolgues in the store. We handed out our last ones yesterday. Park tickets and Disney dollars are still available at the store though.
Yes, it is a sad day for all of us as we are no longer Disney CM's. BUT the Magic still exists as we are still selling Disney which is the happiest place on earth.

I encountered a CM (with big attitude) who wouldn't give me the DVC discount two days ago. Because the dollar amount was so low, I didn't push it. Having been a former TDS CM, I am sure that they just weren't notified by mgmt that the DVC discount would still apply

I also processed 2 DVC discounts today so I can say that the Discount is still in effect! Oh, and by the way, one was for a $2.50 purchase of chocolate candies.

My wife just returned from a special shopping event at the Rockingham Mall in NH and although they would not accept a 15% off coupon that she had (not accepting coupons during the special event), they happily honored the DVC discount.

I used our discount on Saturday at the Disney Store in Hamilton Ontario.

I happened to be in my local store on Saturday night and was told in a very forceful tone "well, that's the last time you'll be able to use that discount!" Of course, I knew otherwise (thanks, Terry S) and didn't press the issue. But this is the same location at which I've had to fight for the discount in the past, so it didn't surprise me. I've only used the discount 5 or 6 times, but can only think of one occasion when I didn't have to explain why I was flashing my DVC Member card and wait for another CM to be called over.

Sheesh. You'd think the discount was coming off of someone's paycheck!!!

We just used our discount without any problem. We did not even have to "explain" DVC!! The clerk just said that it was valid "for now" and said anything could change.
