Any suggestions on a place to buy authentic Disney DVDs?

I bought all my favorite Disney movies on VHS when they came out, but now of course we don't have a VHS player... I've been looking for Disney movies now that my daughter is 3yo, but can't find DVD versions of some of the semi-old classics: The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, etc.

Can anyone point me to a good, reputable place to get these?

I'm hesitant to buy off of ebay - I've had friends get illegal copies buying movies from sellers on eBay...

Some movies are available from Disneystore.com. If the movie is "in the vault" though you may have a tough time tracking it down until it is released again. Most major retailers Walmart, Target, Best Buy carry authentic copies.

If I were looking to purchase a bunch of Disney movies I would re-join the Disney Movie Club. (You can google it and find it easily.) It is a good deal if you want to buy several.

If you're looking to unload your VHS collection, I'll take them off your hands. ;) I went out and got a VHS player for this specific reason, every movie that I want is out, my kids can watch it whenever they want, and it won't break my bank, to get a large stock. I think I bought 50 Disney movies for about $12 total.

amazon.com
secondspin.com
Books A Million
Family Video (sells their used copies)
WalMart
Kmart
Target

I'm honestly not sure what you are asking because there are thousands of places to buy used and new Disney DVDs. My grocery store sells DVDs.

What exactly do you mean by "You can't find them."

Is there something in particular that you are looking for or do you want to spend a really low price or something?

Uh-oh, I haven't heard of this. I bought two Disney movies on DVD at Christmas time from Ebay. How do you know if they are illegal or not? I bought Beauty and the Beast and Snow White.

One way to tll is if the name of the movie is written on the play side near the hole, it's a fake. You can call Disney and verify the numbers to see if they are fakes or not.

Thanks. We move in 2 days so all of our dvd's are packed but I will check once I unpack them. Hoping I haven't bought fakes :(

I second this. I joined DMC for this same reason

I was in our local Goodwill recently and they had a ton of Disney DVD's for $3 a piece. They had VHS tapes too for $.50 a piece.

I have a VHS/DVD player and occasionally I'll buy some VHS tapes, but the quality certainly isn't as nice as the DVD's.

I use Amazon and Craigslist. I get the used ones to cut down on costs (those vaulted movies tend to be priced fairly high). Some of the movies we bought from Amazon were questionable.
