I am going to be in Disneyland June 4th - 7th (first time) with my husband and two small children (1 and 5). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good attractions to do in the heat of the day when the lines are long. Also, how bad are the crowds in the first week of June? Thank you for any info!!

I always like to take the kids back to the hotel midday. Good chance to use the hotel swimming pool and take a nap. I know I can always use one. If the kids don't want to cooperate, we put in a movie or Disney channel and tell them its quiet time. If you don't have the luxury of heading back to the hotel, then I suggest hopping over to DCA, get yourselves a glass of wine and a snack, then go to a Bugs Land. They have a great little water/sprinkler park for the kids to play in and cool off. You can sit on a bench nearby, enjoy the rest and laugh at the kids splashing each other. No lines and it lets them run off a little steam their way. Have fun!

You may want to wander over to the Bug's Land area of California Adventure. They have a "water playground" area of sorts where the kids can get wet and cool off. Fun for parents too!

I agree with every single word of NVDisMom's post. :thumbsup2

You're going to see that most folks will agree that an afternoon break (for everyone, but especially those with young kiddos) is THE WAY to go in the summertime. I also recommend:

- If you haven't already done so, read & print all of HydroGuy's rules.
- If you have access to Early Entry, use it & do Fantasyland with your little ones during EE. You'll get 3 times as much done during this time than you would later in the day.
- Read Hydroguy's rule on FP & use it early & often.
- Taking a mid day nap allows you to enjoy DLR at night and it also makes it easier to get your family up in the morning so you can GET TO THE PARK WHEN IT OPENS. (OR PREFERABLY BE IN LINE 20-30 MIN. BEFORE IT OPENS.)

Have a great time. :cool1:

We like to hit the Costa mesa mall or fashion island. I love to take naps in the afternoon, but it is hard when you have a four year old and one year old, taking into account they don't kick back at the same time. Have a good time.
