We've had our trip planned since January and had amazing luck a month later finding an awesome day/time for BoG. My MIL is now planning to join us for 3 days and of course she'll be with us the day we are eating at BoG. Our current ADR is for 6 people so she would make 7. I'm hopeful if we show up it won't be a problem. Especially since 2 of our party are 1 year olds in a high chair so we could stick them on an end together or something and still fit on a 6-top.

I don't think I would be concerned at most other restaurants, but the popularity of this one has me worried they won't allow it. Anyone tried?

I can't speak for BOG, but I had EXACT same thing happen to me two years ago. We had a character breakfast scheduled and my MIL decided to drive over and see us for a couple of days. I thought it would be no problem to add her to the ADR...WRONG. It was a no-can-do. I even called a couple of different times with no luck. It was very frustrating - and even more frustrating when we got there and there were empty seats and even some empty tables.

It all worked out though - my then 7 yo did NOT want to do a character breakfast (he doesn't like any kind of costumed person), so he and his Nana went and had breakfast together, while the rest of us went to the character breakfast.

I would keep looking and calling for a reservation for 7. You never know, you might get lucky...

It will depend on how crowded they are that day. You'd be going from a six topper to an eight topper. It doesn't matter if the kids are just a year old, they still count against the fire code. Penalties for going over the maximum the restaurant is zoned for is a huge fine. No restaurant is going to take that chance of paying those fines for being over capacity. If they are not crowded, they shouldn't have a problem fitting her in. Just FYI: I have seen people show up with an extra person or even two people and get in, but I have also seen people turned away (at both Le Cellier and Crystal Palace). Le Cellier surprised me, because when we finally got in there, there were some empty tables. I guess they didn't have the staff to accommodate the people in front of us trying to check in with the extra two people.:confused3

Im having the same issue for June... we have an ADR for 4.... now my dad is joining us. UGH. I check every day with no luck so far...

Try calling. We changed from 5 to 6 last week with just a phone call, even though no tables of 6 were available on line,

Le Cellier holds tables based on reservations. So for example if you walked at 5:35 and was seated next to an open table, the table isn't really open... Someone may be getting sat at 5:45. I've seen this numerous times.

I too have to add a person to my reservations....my 14 yr old son. He has now decided he wants to go in August. All my reservations worked out to add him except for BOG. When I spoke to the Castmember she told me that BOG is so OVER booked that when they get cancellations they are not even putting them in the system and they are to tell people there is nothing available and not even bother to look till further notice. YIKES!!!!!

Needless to say I could not add my son to the reservation. I am just holding it for now in case something opens up by then.

Who would have thought a tale as old as time would be soooooo popular?:confused3 Crazy!

I added 1 to a party if 4 (making 5) with minimal problems in mid December. I will say the team at BoG gave us the most grief about it. This happens every time I go to the parks because I never know before hand which Orlando friends will be off. Sometimes it is a weeks notice if they will be joining us or not. I usually will book 4 if 5 people say maybe because 9 out of 10 times someone has to work. Well for BoG everyone was off and didn't tell me!

Don't bother going super early and letting them know. They won't even let you add the person on until 15 till your reservation.
