Any Stay at home moms get the Southwest Chase card?

Just an update on my situation for anyone who may be following this thread or come along later...

My card was not approved automatically online. I got a message that it will require further evaluation. I called them this afternoon. They assure me that the card cannot be approved with an income of $0. No matter what. I was also told that only personal income is allowed in that box - not household income. I was told this is the law. ?? Anyway, I was able to be approved for the card through the phone call only because I have had a Disney Chase Visa since chase took over the Disney Visa. :confused3

For the rewards, $69 is very reasonable. And no, you can't avoid the fee. It's now being charged in the first billing cycle.

I was just wondering why so many were applying for this card despite the fee. DH and I normally don't like applying for different credit cards even though we could get approved in a second. We each have our AMEX and are happy with the points we receive on that. I just can't see myself paying the annual fee to get the same amount of credit back. But maybe that's just me!

Most people are signing up to get the free 50,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards pts (which is about $800 worth of airfare).

Thanks, after I read the other thread about the Southwest card I see how the benefits are really great compared to the $69 fee. Basically, the 50,000 points I receive could get me 3 or all 4 R/T tickets for our family if I wait till a good sale comes along. Flights for our dates have not been released yet but looking at flights in October, one way fares start at $99.
