Any Special Pirate Happenings Going To Be Going On..

during the premiere weekend??

I thought it would be fun to plan a quick Pirates themed weekend, and I'm looking for any special events that might be taking place!

I could have sworn that I read here on the boards not too long ago about casting for a pirates "show"...did I dream that???

So far I'm thinking..stay at the Poly or CBR, see the movie at DTD, ride the "new" ride, maybe pirate "treasure" boxes for the kids.

When we were there last week, DS had his face painted like a pirate, so maybe something like that would be fun.

Any other ideas or suggestions??

I would like to know too! We are going to go see the movie on opening night, July 7, and then get up really early the next day to leave for WDW. Of course, as long as my DD is with us all our trips are "pirate themed" because she is pirate-crazy. In fact, the main reason we are going in July instead of June this year is because POtC is closed in June! I can't wait to see what they've done to the ride. I just hope they don't change it so much that they ruin it...

I would think they would be doing all kind of stuff on at least July 7th!

I can't seem to find out anything except some things that are going on at Disneyland.

Oh well...I'll keep looking, and if I find out anything I'll post back here.

Hey Hunnypots! DH and I have the exact same plan you do! We are going to see Pirates 2 on Friday night and then we have a flight Saturday morning at 7am to head to WDW. We also had a trip planned for June, but DH said he wasn't going to Disney without POTC, so we switched it to July 8th!

I also just noticed that we are both Texans!!! How cool is that? We are from the Dallas area.

Be on the lookout for a tall skinny guy about 30 years old, and a short chubby brunette girl (me) about 26 years old. I'm gonna try and have us a lime green Mickey head on our backpack!

Hey nanabug that is very cool that we have the same plan! I was a little nervous about July crowds and such but I know it will be great. We are just west of Fort Worth so we are not too far from you!

tmt - LOVE the pic! Where was it taken? DD would be out of her mind if she saw something like that! We were in Hot Topic today and they had all the new Pirate merchandise out and let's just say I know what will be on her birthday list!

This was taken at the Baltimore Inner Harbor when the Vovlo Ocean Race was in town .We were lucky enough to get very upclose and on deck to these fine boats(didn't have camera that day).

DD scored herself a Pirates bandana , a few posters and a bunch of stickers over the week they were here.
And YES Hot topic is one of our must stops at the malls for Pirates stuff and DD's Tink.I've even picked up a few NBC Jack stuff as well.

I read in the annual pass newletter the following: (paraphrasing)

"Let Captain Jack Show 'Em the Ropes". From July 7th until the end of August Captain Jack Sparrow divulges his own whimsical pirates "how-to" pointers. Times will be listed in the Times and Entertainment schedule for specific appearances. It is in the Caribbean Plaza in Adventureland.

We are going on July 9th and also seeing the movie on the 7th. We scheduled the Pirate Adventure from GF for our DS and DD.

I also saw in the party store they had Pirates of the Caribbean party goods if you wanted to pick up special plates or eye patches etc..

I swear I saw somewhere something that said they were putting up a screen at or in the pirates attraction for a private screening of the movie. I have no idea where I saw it though.
Wish I could find that.

First of all...Tmt Martins: WHAT AN AWESOME BOAT! me and the kids flipped out when we saw your picture! you should be an official mascot of POC just having something so spectacular!
I just remember that when the first Pirates movie came out Disneyland had a HUGE party! all of the Actors such as Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom etc. were there walking down the red carpet and greeting people in the crowd. They were amazingly friendly! I have a picture SOME where...I might have lent it to a friend but I'll see what I can do. With any luck, they will do the same thing THIS time!

we plan to be there when potc opens. have scheduled the trip oround it. i know it will be a little crazy, but it will be worth it. the kids love potc, and it will be thier first time at dw. can't wait.

Nanabug & Hunnypots: We're from Arlington and it sounds like we are leaving the same days as y'all Our plan is a little different though. We have a 8am flight on July 8th. So we aren't going to see the movie on the 7th instead we are planning to see it at DTD one night. My DD is absoloutely thrilled about that!

I can't wait to see the new 'show' that Disney just announced. All 3 of us (DBF, DD, & me) are all Pirate nuts.
