Any serious talk of a WDW Cars Land or Star Wars Land??

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any serious talk recently of a Cars Land or a Star Wars Land being added to DHS?

I heard Jim Hill talk about a possible Star Wars Land a few months ago, but not sure if it was something that was something being seriously considered?

Personally, I would love to have a Cars Land in WDW! We live too far away from DLR

I think the notion of cars land comming to dhs is now an after thought. Star wars land will happen however don't expect that to happen for at least 5 years. It will be done in phases. Its all about DAK now

Some insiders are reporting that Carsland plans are being scrapped. One of the reasons being that RSR would be too problematic in the Florida weather.

Avatar and Star Wars were teased at D23 Anaheim. Then some info on Avatar came out at D23 Japan. So I'd say we should see something soon about Star Wars.

It was discussed in other threads a while ago and there were some quoted sources that noted CarsLand in FL was dead and it would not happen. I don't remember the specific sources. Also in the information was that there were plans for a Star Wars land and there was also something else at HS, but I don't remember what it was. Assume it had something to do with a Pixar connection.

They are working on Star Wars stuff for sure it's just when will we see it? Nobody knows at this moment. It's called project orange harvest at least that's what it was at the D23 expo in Anaheim.

When we were at WDW last spring we had a conversation with a cast member at DHS about the potential for additional Star Wars attractions. I remember in particular him mentioning a "Cantina." My husband is the SW fanatic, but that is what know! I am very excited myself for Avatar Land at DAK!!!

I read somewhere on here that it is shutting down for a couple? months-- just recently. For rehab--- thats all I know.

I think we must be talking about different things - does BLT refer to something aside from Bay Lake Towers? I had heard a rumor that the Contemporary and/or Bay Lake Towers might be re-themed for Star Wars, but closing for several months sounds like something else...

Oh thank goodness!!!! The Backlot Tour is horrendous right now-a total waste of space ever since they got rid of the actual CM host, the sitcom houses, & every other aspect that they used to have in the early 90's. We skip it now unless we are just looking for something mindless to do. I'm so excited that they are going to rehab it....& hopefully turn it back into the cool attraction it used to be.

I have to agree, Cars Land can't come to Florida. After riding the rides this past week, only Matter's could survive Florida weather and that is with a roof added like the tea cups. As cool as RSR is, the Florida weather would tear it apart.

I never said a land but they are working on Star Wars stuff for the parks thats fact.
