We have bad green mildew stains on our porch furniture cushions...almost like someone rubbed grass on them. Does anyone have suggestions for how to remove these stains? I would buy replacement cushions but can not find the right size.

I would give it a good healthy dose of CLR ( it's in a bright green bottle, Calcium Lime & Rust), and set it soak for a while 30-45mins then spray as much of it off as you can with the jet nossle on the hose handle.

That should take off most of it. Do it outside, cause it is super strong smellin'

If that dosen't work, maybe try a stemy hot bucket with landry soap and a scrub brush and hose off. Or maybe make a Borax paste, apply the paste, scrub and rinse.

Lots of info on this if you do a Google search:

If you are going to use CLR, you need to use their outdoor furniture cleaner, not regular CLR:

My first thought is bleach, but I don't knoww hat color your cushin are so that is probably out. Oxyclean might work. Or laundry degergant for color laundry that has bleach? I tend to hit mildew/mold with bleach whenever I see it.

Good luck

is what I use for cleaning mildew off houses before I paint.

Buy it in the paint section of your local big box home center or any paint store. Mix it with warm water, per box directions, use with pump sprayer to apply. Let soak in and spray off. Add a bit of bleach if first pass doesn't do much.

Should work fine. Careful with bleach on fabrics, but if you apply evenly and not to strong and rise quick, you should be fine.

We just did this the other day. We hosed the cushions down, and sprayed OxiClean on the stains. Did a bit of scrubbing with a brush & then hosed them down again. It worked really well

Try using a powerwasher on them, just did that at my house last week and they look brand new!
