I need advice on town car service and I am running out of time.
If any of you live in Seattle, please give me the name of reputable town car service.

Maybe it's because I live outside the city, but I'd never even heard of a "towncar service" until planning a Disney trip. You could try the yellow pages on Yahoo. If it were me, I'd just take a cab. I don't know if locals are going to be able to help you unless they happen to know someone in the business.

If you are thinking of the towncar services being like the ones in Orlando because of the business WDW brings I'm sorry to say you are out of luck. Given the lack of demand there are only high priced limo serivces, overpriced cabs, and overpriced airport shuttles.

If you give the details about your needs people might be able to give you alternatives, but it's simply nothing like airports serving the Disney parks.

Exactly. I live here, and I have a car, so I dont need to hire a town car. Sorry I can't help.

Downtown, you are probably better off either walking or catching a cab (and yes, they are overpriced too).

If you are going out of the city to multiple locations, car rental would be much simpler...but know that parking downtown is a premium (just like any downtown).

There is an extensive bus system in Seattle, but I don't know anything about it.

We live about 250 miles away from Seattle, but it's our closest big town.

Like everyone else has said since we live here I have family drive us to and from the airport. We did run into a little trouble coming home from DW last December and my Dad could not meet us to pick us up like we planned. This was a last minute deal and at the baggage claim area there was large display of advertisers and a phone. On the display was a local limo company and all I did was pick up the phone dial a two digit code and was connected with the limo company. They had a small limo at the baggage claim in 15 minutes. It was pretty reasonable and worked out pretty well. Other than that I dont have much experience with Towncars in Seattle.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I am so late getting back to the boards. I had to go out and buy last minute things for the trip.
We fly into Seattle on Saturday, but our flight arrives at 9:54 PM, so nearly 10 PM. I was just afraid to take a cab to our hotel that late. I thought maybe a towncar service would be nicer or safer. What do you think?
We are staying at the Hilton downtown and leave on a cruise Sunday morning. I don't mind taking the cab to the terminal on Sunday since it will be daytime. I was just hesitant about a cab that late Saturday night. I was going to try to get the towncar service to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the Hilton.
What do you think?

Have you looked into Shuttle Express? Im not sure how many are in your party, but they discount the rate after the first two people. I think the airport to downtown is around $28. They offer towncar service on their website too.

I read about them in my cruise book. I haven't looked at them because I wasn't sure if the time would be too late. I will check out their web site.

I have used shuttle express both here in seattle as well as in DC. They are available late at night and dont cost too much. Word to the wise though print out directions from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. My last trip to dc the shuttle driver didnt know where my hotel was located. He kept driving and driving around. He finally asked me where it was. I had just stepped off of a red eye and had no idea. Finally we found it but it was not a stress free transition. THe trips I have used it for in seattle have gone well. THey picked me up and dropped me off with no problems.

I'd just catch a cab. I do it all the time - sometimes late at night by myself. When by myself, I always call or pretend to call someone on my cell as soon as I get in the cab and tell them I'm on my way to my hotel and will call them as soon as I'm there... and give an approx travel time. Don't know that it helps but it makes me feel safer.

But if you're not by yourself, I wouldn't worry 2 seconds about catching a cab late at night.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. I usually drive or have a friend bring us to the airport.

It looks like Shuttle Express will be available. So we will plan that. From what I could tell on their web site, I do not need to book it now. It looks like I can just catch it at the airport..........sort of like Mears at Orlando for WDW. DH and I will be together so if the shuttle doesn't pan out, we can take a cab. Thanks, Pugdog007, I feel better about that now if we have to do it.
I am very excited about this trip. The kids are at grandparents and DH and I will have the long trip alone together! We fly out tomorrow. We sail from Sunday-Sunday. We will then spend 2 days in Seattle and leave there on that Tuesday. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you all have a "must see" list for Seattle? It looks like the sky/space needle is a must see. Also, I have read about Pike Market (or something like that). Anything else?

I called Cascade Town Car service THREE times and left messages for them to return my call. This spanned over the last few weeks. They were recommended in one of my cruise books. However, I never received any call back from them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I am not impressed with their customer service. They must not need the business.
The shuttle will be the way we go.

Most people go to PIkes place market and the space needle. I enjoy the EMP (experience music project).

If you want to see a wonderful view of the seattle skyline walk abord the bainbridge ferry and take it to bainbridge and back great view of the city and if you get off and walk a little there is wonderful ice cream right next to the ferry dock on bainbridge island.

Also if it is a cool day (not sunny) try the underground tour it is interesting and you learn a lot about seattle history. Just dont take it on a sunny day as it can really smell, it is underground after all.

The shuttle is the way to go.

To see both the Pike Place Market and Space Needle (which I agree you should do) I recommend walking or taking a bus/cab to the waterfront area and seeing the Market/watefront area and then taking the Monorail to the Seattle Center area which is where the Space Needle is located.

If you want to hit a couple more attractions you could get a City Pass which will get your a harbor tour on the waterfront, into the Aquarium at the waterfront, a ticket to the Space Needle, and into the Woodland Park Zoo which I hihgly recommend if you have the time. All can be done in two days with ease.

City Passes are sold at those attractions so you can wait till you're here to make your decision. Just don't pass it up if you're going to do those things anyway, it's quite the savings.

Wow. Thanks! I just took a break from packing to get a bite to eat and check the thread. Thanks so much for all of the information.
So on our Seattle days I will plan to start off by taking a cab to the waterfront area and see the market. There I also need to buy a citypass. The citypass will get us the harbor tour in this area. After finishing up the market and waterfront area then we need to take the monorail, if it is open, to the center and get off for the needle. We can do this our first full day. On day two, we should do the underground tour, if it is cool, and then take the ferry to bainbridge and back. Where do I start/purchase the underground tour? I assume the ferry will be at the waterfront area. Is that correct? Are cabs easy to get? Also, are there plenty of restaurants in these areas?
