Any reviews on Cap'n Jack's at Downtown Disney? Can you get the twin lobster tails at Cap'n Jack's using the DDP? Can you use the DDP at Fulton's Crab House or Portobello Yacht Club?

We will be at Disney the middle of August for 6 nights as our 18 year old will be starting the Disney CareerStart Program this Fall. He loves seafood so we are wanting some Disney restaurant recommendations w/ good seafood for his last meal before he moves into his apt and begins the program. He especially likes crab legs. Any advice?

DF and I were there about 3 weeks ago and had this:

Top Sirloin with Onion Ragout and Horseradish Cream with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables $19.99

Seafood Pasta - shrimps, scallops and lump crab in a rich lobster sauce served with broccoli florets and linguini $20.99

The sirloin was AMAZING and so was the pasta. There was now way I could eat that much and ended up eating half of it for lunch at work the next day.
We paid OOP, so I'm not sure about the lobster. But I will say that I know there were quite a few ppl there on the DDP and A LOT of lobster being ordered. Make sure you get a Strawberry Margarita and avoid PYC. :thumbsup2

Hello Illinios4

DW and myself ate at Cap'n Jack's on our trip last April 2005. At that time the lobster tails was included in the dinning plan. They were great also. We are planning on trying to go back to Cap'n Jack's during our Sept. trip this year. We are also going to try Fulton's also. I know that Fulton's is on the Premimum Package dining plan. :sunny:

Had dinner there in December. The food was very good. Lobster tails were allowed, we did not choose to have that though. I had the seafood pasta and DS and DH had the ribs, DD had the grilled chicken sandwich. No one complained so I guess it was all good! I really enjoyed the Seafood Pasta

Thank you for the advice and information. I'm sure the steak and lobster will both be ordered by us as well as a strawberry margarita!

We ate there last Sept during the free dining and enjoyed it. The twin lobsters were good and I really liked the crab cake appetizer. It was really good.

We got there just as they were opening for dinner and didn't have to wait long.

Wow, we must have gone there on a really bad day. Cap'n Jacks was the WORST food we EVER had while at WDW. Nobody ate the caesar salad, it was all slimy and fishy tasting. My DH and I each had some pasta dish, both were really terrible. The kids' mac and cheese was also terrible. We had 3 kids with us and none of them ate it (and my daughter isn't picky at all). Just so you know, we usually really love Disney food. I think for a theme park, they prepare their meals really well. This was the first time we were disappointed in our meals (of course, Sci-Fi isn't great, but the atmosphere is why we go there). Like I said, maybe we were there on a bad day (chef was sick or something). We won't try it again, though.
