We are looking into a trip in November and would like to use our DVC points for a hotel at Disneyland but would like to stay a few days in the city. Preferably something close to the metro and a good bakery! Any suggestions for a hotel and websites to use for booking?

We went to Paris in February and stayed at a hotel called Hotel Wallace. It was very basic but good value. There were no facilities but when in Paris you dont need loads of extra facilities. However there were lots of toiletries, kettle with small amount of tea and coffee and TV

It has its own website but we booked via last minute.com

It was very close to about 3 metro stations and had 2 good bakeries virtually next door.
We ate breakfast there one day but didnt bother again as you had to pay extra and it wasnt worth it. Instead we went to the bakery and bought fresh Croissants and pain au chocolat (Yum!!!)

It was also within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower (about 15mins approaching from Champ de Mars end)

The area it was in was surrounded by shopping streets where real Parisiens seemed to shop and we found a wonderful restaurant on the first day just round the corner which filled up really quickly (Saturday lunchtime) and everyone seemed to know each other as they came in and were also known by the waiters giving the impression it was a place used by locals which we always like. To us if a place isfull of locals it suggests its good quality French food as opposed to overpriced touristy food.

Although a very basic hotel we would stay here again.

I have stayed at the Hotel du Mont Blanc, great location & great price. It is in the Latin Quarter & very close to loads of restaurants. It is near Notre Dame and the St Michel metro station. It was a few years ago that I was there, so have a look on tripadvisor to see if it is still getting good reviews.

I very much like the Hotel de la Porte Doree'. The bakery across the street is the BEST (I think closed on Mondays), and it is in more of a residential neighborhood. The owners are a married couple - one French (the husband) one American. It is near the Bois de Vincennes, which is a huge park.

We got a good internet rate (under £40 a night) at a little hotel 2 minutes walk from Republique station- great area, really easy to get to all the sites on the metro. The hotel was called "Grand Hotel de l'Avenue Paris".

We stayed there for a long weekend last September. The staff are friendly. The rooms are small, but clean and neat, and the bathrooms were nice and new. We booked it after reading some very good reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed.
