for the record .... major airports have a 'holding pool' for taxi - they are no longer allowed to troll for fares - and it is rare at a major airport that this pool is empty ... so a dispatcher just calls for a car and they are released from the pool and head to the stand ......
AND similar is applied to UBER and LYFT ..... don't ask me to explain the technology but it works the same way. For example an UBER driver can't just cruise the terminals in Orlando but reports to the UBER holding lot and they put him in the queue. As UBER requests come in they dispatch the cars ... first in, first out.
just checked and taxi airport to port is $27 flat rate (plus tip)
UBER is $25 for X ... right now, as you know UBER pricing is 'dynamic'
