We've just recently returned from HIFS, which was great for our family of 4.

My sister and her family were going to stay there with 7 people. 4 adults, 3 kids. Although its a good place to stay, I said they would be too cramped in one room. Reserving 2 rms is too expensive for them. 2rms would cost them $280/nt. total.

Any recommendations on places that might have decent rates over 11 days this christmas for 7 people? they know they are going at the busiest, most expensive time of yr. The free breakfast and closeness to the park was an attraction to the hotel.

A 2BR villa timeshare week at a really nice property nearby is a great option for a large family. It's much, much larger than a suite at a suite hotel like HIFS! I can also be more affordable when renting from a timeshare owner with the only loss of features being daily housekeeping. The rooms are so large that this has never been a problem for us. It's the same when you rent a vacation home or condo. We always stock the full kitchen with easy breakfast foods (cereals, fruit, yogurt, etc.) and snacks, a couple of simple meals or sandwich fixings to take in a soft cooler in the car... all the kids' favorites. Hope that helps! :)

We recently returned from a week of fun at WDW where we rented a house in Kissimmee (only 5-10 min from the parks) for 8 people (4 adults/4 kids). We had 4 bdrm/2 bath, pool/jacuzzi, full kitchen, laundry facilities etc. It was a great set up and was very inexpensive. We found the house on www.vrbo.com where you deal directly with the owners! If you are interested specifically in the house we rented (although I don't even know if it's available for the timeframe you're looking at), I could give you the owners email. Otherwise, I would certainly suggest checking out the vrbo website. Having done a ton of research before my trip, I'm now better equipped to answer some questions about some of the developments in the Kissimmee area too!
Good luck!

Karenvicki,

I am looking into all options now for my sister and her family.
I would appreciate the owners e-mail. even if the house you rented is not available, the owner might know of another.

Thank you.

The owner's name is David Field and his email address is david.field5@virgin.net. He lives in Scotland but I know that he'll be at his Florida home starting tomorrow...I hope you can reach him! Please tell him you got his name from Karen Klein.
Good luck!
