Hi: Have been reading posts about the rundown condition of port orleans riverside rooms, worn out carpeting, bad housekeeping. Has anyone who has recently stayed there received an immaculate room, no worn out carpeting, everything looking brand new? I thought it was recently renovated.

Thanks,

Deb.

I think the run down conditions were a few years back - before I stayed there. The rooms were very nice when I was there, in terms of everything looking pretty good. Mind, I was there in early 2006, but they had recently been done before I went. they also redid the food court since I was there.

We just stayed at POR over Christmas and our room was great....we were in Magnolia Terrace building 85. I have no complaints about mousekeeping...we had extra soaps, shampoos and towels everyday....we didn't get any towel animals this trip but that's okay.

We stayed at POR in September 07. No worn carpets, bedspreads as they had been replaced a couple of years ago. Did have a stain on the carpet, but Mousekeeping were fine, bedding was clean. DH did come out in welt like spots after staying there though the rest of us were fine. Think he may have been allergic to the detergent they use or something.

We stayed in june and could not have been happier. I wish i could remember her name but the woman who made up our room everyday was wonderful. When we would get back to the room the kids would be excited to see how many varied "towel animals" she had made. Another neat trick was the "hidden mickey" she would leave. Something would be arranged somewhere. The kids really loved it. Needless to say, I left her a nice tip when we left!

We stayed in October - mansions, building 90. Room was run down and dirty, would have been better at a Value for almost half the cost. Sorry, not a POR fan. Have stayed at almost all of the disney properties, but won't try this one again.

We stayed in the Magnolia Bend section in October, and had no problems! Our room was clean, no torn towels or bedding, and no dust that we noticed. Housekeeping always left plenty of towels and copious amounts of coffee fixins.

I stayed there Friday night the 18th in AB...Room 3551. Upon first inspection the room was nice, but not very clean :scared: The bathtub looked like someone had gotten a haircut in it...a bunch of short hairs all over the place - all in the tub, along the walls...and in the corner of where the wall/floor meet the tub, behind the bathroom door looked like 6 months worth of people's hair, dust...it was nasty. There were food crumbs on the floor, a sticker hanging off the fridge, the sink drain/plug was broken and left laying in the sink and there was a letter in the room dated January 10th.

I won't stay there again, that's for sure....
