Any recent experience with adult/child CS credits?

I understand that the adult and child CS credits are pooled, but are they seperated? If you are traveling with 2 adults and 2 children, I know your Key to the World will say 2 adults and 2 children, does this mean that you can only purchase 2 adult CS meals at a time? If they allow you to use 3 credits for 3 adult meals, will you run out of adult credits and have only child credits left? I am hoping to hear from DISers who have had any experience with this over the past couple weeks of free dining. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't have a 'for sure' answer for you but I think you can use your credits as fast as you want and when they are gone they are gone. Just curious though - with 2 adults & 2 kids, why would you want to buy 3 adult CS meals at one time?

My 8 year old eats alot, and I am worried that a child CS will not be enough food for him.

Basically, on the Dining Plan, you get one TS and one CS for each person on your hotel reservation. If you have two adults and two children, then half of the credits are for adult meals, and half are for child meals. That applies to both TS and CS. For TS, Disney monitors this closely through their information systems. For CS, guests are on their honor.

We just returned this week. CS credits still show as one pool, we had 15. We had two adults and one child and never bought more than 2 CS meals at a time. I'd actually have to think about when we used them. We are vegetarians so other than PB&J there aren't many kid meals for him.

Day 1: late lunch at resort Pizza combo meal and veggie burger meal
(Kid ate pizza, I ate salad and his leftover pizza)

Day 2: Pirate party dinner veggie burger combos (kid ate fries and dessert)

Day 3: Main St Bakery after Spectro Uncrustable, Basil Mozz sandwich, cake

Day 4: 2 Adult breakfast platters w/o meats, 4 drinks (kid shared)

Day 5: lunches at Sunshine Seasons salmon and mac & cheese kids meal

Day 6: Mom must have had breakfast while we were at MGM

Day 6L: resort 2 cheese Pizzas, ice cream, drinks

Day 6 final: fresh fruit, waters, sliced apples, OJ, Uncrustable

I actually think the CS meals are a great deal on the plan. The meals are usually pretty filling and the dessert can be tucked away for a snack and the bottled beverages are easy to take to the park or store in the room for later.

The CS places reserve the right to limit you to the number of Adult and child meals that are listed on your card when checking out.

We just returned on Tuesday. I did not see on our cards where it listed how many adults and children. We had 3 adults and 1 child. There were times we ordered 3 adult meals and split them. I do not know if we used the right amount of child vs adult TS meals in the end. No one ever monitered it.

We went two weeks ago. Our TS credits were split between adult and child. The CS credits were not. Each TS receipt we got after the meal showed how many adult and child TS credits were left. The CS receipts showed them pooled.
