We rebooked onboard on our last cruise & got a $100 onboard credit. We are looking to transfer our ressie to another TA to get more of a rebate. DU isn't giving a great one so I was wonderiing if anyone knew about another one that has right now or I should keep an eye on for the future! Thanks!!:D

I am sure if you held the reservation, something from DU or AllSeas may pop up. I wanted to give a few alternate ideas, however, that may provide payback you have not thought of.

One, you could transfer it to a local TA. Although you probably will not get any rebates (since those from DU and All Seas comes out of their commission), a local TA would probably loev to get the business. This has the advantage of supporting your local community and having a TA you can actually go visit! If things go wrong, you won't be an anonymous voice on the other end, but someone they know and have talked to.

A second idea would be to use a TA that gives something back. One example would be Barbara's new TA business. her site states that 5% of the commissions goes to charity. Other TA are known to send flowers, champagne, platters, or other goddies to your stateroom for your arrival. Although not as easy to see, a bottle of champaign may be a $100 rebate you were not expecting (especially if you planned on buying one anyway).

Those are a couple alternative ideas.

Good Luck, your highness ;) :p

AAA offered us a $100 onboard credit and free soda mug/card to transfer our reservation to them. Plus they give you a stateroom gift.

Greysword.... if I am a higness, are you a royal subject?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Though now I will feel guilty not going with a transfer that will send money toa charity... we are supporters of the HoneySuckle Foundation so if I don't do that PLEASE don't hate me!!!

Thanks so much for the suggestion!! I would love details on the AAA transfer-- was it a 7night? we're only doing the 3 night- & they were doing a promo at the time? Or did you ask?? Thanks!!

I would love details on the AAA transfer....I just transferred to them...no onboard credit....

I called my local AAA office after the hysteria died down for the CA to FL repo cruise next August. I had already booked, but they were very interested in getting my reservation. I asked for an onboard credit, the TA said she'd have to check with her manager, and the manager called me and said they'd give that to me plus the mug.

Last time I went through them, we got luggage totes -- one for each of us, plus a beautiful in room gift and coupons, etc. for WDW (it was a land and sea package).

The price I got from DCL was really great- I've looked around & no one can beat it. Maybe I'll call AAA, but I'm fairl positive that they wont' be as interested in my 3 night as they were in your 14 night;) Well, I'm sure I'll find something. If not then I still got the best price PLUS an onboard credit! Thanks again!:D
