Any reason to check in on line for Song if we have luggage to check?

Next week, we fly Song out of Hartford, Ct. I was thinking of checking in on line, before we leave for the airport. However, if we have bags to check anyway, is there any reason to check in at home? Coming home, we plan on checking our luggage at our hotel, and having them give us our boarding pass.
Thanks!

If you check in online, you can then leave your luggage with the skycap and avoid the counter completely.

Don't know about Hartford, but skipping the counter is a godsend at most other airports.

We fly Song/Delta from BDL (Hartford) and always have bags to check. We just use the skycap at the curb to check in get our boarding passes and then head to security.

For us because we always check bags curb side we don't check in on line...it just seem an extra step we don't need to add in.

Happy flying, have a great trip!

Thanks Colleen & Cranbiz! I think we will use the skycap!!!

I always fly song and Jetblue and always have checked luggage so I never do online check in as it really doesn't save me any steps.

I always do curbside check in and the skycap takes care of my luggage and my boarding pass...online check in would save me having the skycap printing the boarding passes but I don't mind having him do it as it only takes a minute.

For some airlines its worth it to check in online to get your seats but with Jetblue and Song there's no need as our seats are assigned already. Also, it can be worth it sometimes to check in online if you can earn some extra bonus miles doing so.

Another reason I like the skycap to print out my boarding pass is he always makes me aware of any flight delays.

In Hartford, Song has the self-service kiosks for checking in your bags. You do not need to stand in line waiting for the skycap outside(which gets pretty long at popular times). Plus, you do not have to tip anyone. The kiosks are right inside the door and you just need the credit card you used when booking or your Delta skymiles card. You check yourself in, the luggage tags are spit out of the machine and a Song representative puts them on your bags(after checking your ID's)and directs you to put your bags in a designated spot over by an Xray machine. Very simple and fast. The lines at the kiosks move very quickly. So, try this if the line to the skycap is long!

I always check-in online, checked baggage or not, so I can make sure and get the seat I won't. Seat has been changed too many times by checking in at the airport, so I don't do that anymore.

I never check-in on-line if I have luggage to check. Since I usually get to the airport 2 hrs. before my flight I don't have to rush around. I use the self service kiosks at Logan for Song. You print out your boarding pass, then step over to the luggage counter (about 5 steps away) and it takes about 5 minutes to get your stuff checked through. I have never taken more than 5 minutes to do this. But, I have seen those sky cap lines really get long. No way am I waiting in those lines.

FWIW, I guess it depends on timing etc...because I have NEVER in all my 8 trips to Disney encountered a line at the skycap counter. We LOVE it!!
