We might have to move our trip to Jan. and I was wondering if there was anything going on Jan. 29 thru Feb. 4? Is that Loatus/ IBM convention then or the week before? Are there big groups from other countries there at that time? If anyone knows of anything special going on at that time that might make it more crowded please let me know. Thanks, Melissa

Not sure about 2007, but we spent 1/30 - 2/4 of 2006 there and had a great trip. Plan to pack for both warm and cool weather. There were very few waits for any of the rides and the parks were much less crowded than our previous trip the end of April 2004. :woohoo:

yes it's a great time to go. Yes pack some warm clothes .

We're going a couple of weeks later next year because of our guests' schedules, but that's typically when we go. It's a nice time to go -- just pack warm clothes, as byoung said.

As has been said - pack warm clothes but also plan to dress in layers. We were there that time this year; daytime was beautiful but it got very chilly once the sun went down.

My #1 reason is the weather. It's iffy. Can be nice, or it can be quite chilly. I personally hate being at Disney when it's chilly. I've been in January and it's been downright COLD. If this doesn't bother you, it's a nice time to go because it's not crowded. However, we feel like it's missing the excitement of the warmer months...there is just something in the air in the summer. A feeling of "vacation" and "excitement" that I thought was missing in the winter. The parks close early, I don't like that. Also, it's kind of their "spring" and there is a lot of pollen in the air. I had allergy attacks.

As you can see, I don't like this time of year for our Disney vacations, BUT there are folks that love it. At least it's value season as far as pricing at the resorts. And, the crowds are low.

We were there this year, Feb2-6. It was cold, damp and rainy most of the time. We made an effort to go to the parks, with ponchos on, but finally decided to give in and spend the evenings at the resorts. When we were in the parks, we had a good time. There weren't many people around and everything was a walk on. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time in the evening at the resort. One night we spent at POR lounge watching Bob Jackson and another night we spent in the FQ lounge watching a great jazz player! However, with that said, I won't go back this time of year again.

We were there that exact week this year and we love it. It's my husband's favorite trip of the year and we go 4-5 times a year and have gone in January every year for the past 6 yrs. We love that it's cool not cold and it did rain 1 day the week we were there but it didn't bother or slow us down what-so-ever. We are "those people" who love the lack of crowds, lack of noisy children and the ability to walk on any ride immediately over and over again. We can wander around and actually notice the details without have to watch who we're stepping on or who's about to shove into us. We can talk without yelling or having to repeat ourselves. I'm not putting down the busier times of year (I go then too :woohoo: ) but that's our favorite month followed closely by September. Another nice thing about that time of year is because it's so much slower and more relaxed, we usually have time to fit in at least one tour into our schedule.
