recent home sellers/buyers?
I was just wandering, is there any books sold in Ontario on how stage and get your home ready to sell? Where can I get the information? We thought it is the perfect time of year(fall/winter) to do the inside work, then spring/summer, to do the outside work.

Make sure that family pictures are put away and windows are cleaned and window coverings are open to let in lots of light. Dust light fixtures and clean light switches. Declutter everything possible, the less stuff in a room, the bigger the room looks, light candles to make the air smell yummy. Touch up any paint or flooring that is in need. Paint if neccessary. Make sure the yard is clean and the garage (if you have one) is cleaned out to accomodate a vehicle. Clear off counters and put things away. That is all I have for now. There are some great shows on HGTV dedicated to this very topic. Have a look through the TV guide and the names should stand out. There are some British shows as well as some American ones. Its a great place to start.

We just sold our home of 19 years in April and our real estate agent arranged for a home stager to visit us as part of his service. A lot of agents are doing this now. With a LOT of work and about $3000 invested (most of which was spent on things that we took to our new home) we sold our house the very first day that it was open for viewing at exactly the price we wanted. It was well worth the effort and $. Good luck!
